1. Not Owning Up To Your Talents
I have so many beautifully gifted friends that refuse to see how talented they actually are. They are the world's worst for just saying, "I mean, I guess I'm okay at *insert something he or she is absolutely fabulous at*." Do not be ashamed of a gift God has given you. He blessed you with that specific thing for a reason! Use it and be proud of it!
2. Not Being Yourself Around Others
I hate when I see others pretending to be something they aren't in the hopes that they'll impress others. If you feel like you have to impress your peers, you're surrounding yourself with the wrong people. Don't get me wrong - your friends should build you up and challenge you - but they should never make you feel inferior.
3. Saying Your Opinion Doesn't Matter
Whether it's because of the fear of rejection or just being scared to speak up, we have to stop saying that our opinions don't matter. Your opinion matters. Just because someone else might not agree or like your opinion does not make your opinion any less worthy. No one should ever have the upper hand with you like that. You have every right to believe whatever you believe. Stand up for yourself.
We need to start realizing that there is a difference between being cocky and just appreciating the little quirks that make you, you! You are allowed to love yourself. There are no two people who are the same. There is something inside everyone that is unique just to them, and if they are too scared to show it, then there is a chance the world will never get to see all they truly have to offer. Just remember who made you and remember that you are not just here to take up space.
