Research shows that only 8% percent of people who make New Year's resolutions actually accomplish them. Those are quite slim chances, but I’ve got the perfect tips to help you be a part of the 8%.
Start now! Don’t wait on the year change in order to start on the things that you’d like to accomplish! Here are a couple remixes on some typical New Year’s Resolutions, so you know how to start on your journey right now! (After you read this article, of course.)
1. Lose Weight
Every other person that I come across has some version of losing weight or becoming healthier on their New Year Resolutions list. But the best thing that you can do now is establish simple, good habits that will keep strong into the new year. Start going to the gym a couple times a week. Drink more water. Actually get your daily intake of fruits and vegetables. Treat yourself during the holiday season, and once New Year's is upon us, put all your effort into making this resolution a reality.
2. Spend Less, Save More
We could all use a little bit (or a lotta bit) more money in our bank account. With every holiday purchase that you make, give yourself 24 hours to think it over first. 88% of all impulse purchases are made because the item is on sale. I know those holiday sales seem like an amazing opportunity, but even leaving the store and taking a walk around the mall to think would be a lot better than just buying it in that moment. Once we put more effort into thinking about our purchases, our wallets will surely thank us in the long run.
3. Fall In Love
Even though you can’t exactly predict when you would cross this resolution off of your list, I often see it on other people’s lists as well. It is “cuffing season” anyway. But to meet new people (and potential baes), all you gotta do is take a chance! Everyone loves a compliment. Twenty seconds of courage may change your life. So when you’re interested in someone, don’t be scared to make the first move!
I hope these tips gave you the courage to start on your New Year’s resolution list right now! You only need to take small steps in order to achieve your goals. As long as you’re taking steps in the right direction, I promise you'll get there! And once the new year hits, you can start it on the right foot.
