3 Ways to Avoid the Flu

In This Article:

With flu season quickly approaching us, students at Purdue University are looking to stay away from the illness. Here are three easy ways to prevent the flu at all costs.

Stay Away!

If someone you know has the flu, stay at least three feet away to avoid catching their germs. Yes, ladies, this includes no kissing or hugging your significant other - I promise it's worth the wait! Coming into direct contact with someone who is fighting a cold or flu is the quickest way to catch it yourself. Do yourself a favor and keep away...but be sure to let them know to not take it personally.

Wash Your Hands!

We all learned this super important tip before we even started walking. Washing your hands as often as you can to help to kill any germs and keep yourself free from the illness. Washing your hands for at least 30 seconds under hot water is a great way to keep ahead of the game.

Don't Touch the T-Zone!

T-Zone warnings line the hallways of my high school, and for good reason! Touching your T-Zone on your face is an easy way to transfer any bad germs onto the most susceptible places for illness to enter your body. Try not to touch your face.

The flu is no fun, but these quick tips, hopefully you can avoid it!
