At this point, we or someone close to us has access to at least one of the big 3 media streaming sites: Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu. Sometimes we're lucky and have access to 2 or all 3, in which case, a lot of our television or movie needs are already met. However, since the big push for direct streaming, and all the things that have become available since its creation, we've begun to notice some rather unsavory things about the big services we all hold so dear to our entertainment-seeking hearts.
1) ALL 3 HAVE A MIXED BAG
It seems like for every good movie or series that we find on our streaming sites, there's 10 other ones that are simply there as placeholders. Now I'm perfectly aware that everyone's tastes are different, but NO ONE needs to see Balto 2 or Looney Tunes: Back In Action (we pretend that it doesn't exist most of the time). So for Every Bojack Horseman or OITNB, there's multitudes of one star or lower movies or series. For every additional season of Family Guy or American Dad, we gain shows that barely made it to 6 episodes. Streaming sites need to take an additional look at their ratings, and actually get rid of the things that aren't working. It'd clear the shelves for additional shows and movies, and it would make browsing a lot easier.
2) LACK OF FLEXIBILITY
We turn to Netflix for Movies, Hulu for television series, and Amazon Prime for made-for-streaming content (The Grand Tour comes to mind). However, Netflix has their own original series, Hulu has specific tv series, and Prime has a fair share of movies within it's libraries. So every site has a little bit of everything, which is beneficial. However, many users wish that they'd at least be more flexible with their options, mainly involving television series. Normally, a series will stream on Netflix or Prime until its contract runs out, then it'll go to Hulu or one of the smaller specific streaming services that are trying to cash in (Boomerang, Fox's upcoming streaming service, etc). So for the most part, there is a limited window for binging a specific series or film, and once it's gone, it won't appear again for sometime, if at all. Users wish that the streaming sites were a little more flexible in their functions, or at least good at holding onto much-watch series for a bit longer.
And Finally
3) STOP GETTING RID OF EVERYTHING WE LOVE!
