When you get to college, summers will go from time binge-watching Netflix, to working 40 hour weeks at an internship with a top company.
Your time will be spent beefing up your resume in order to get that job when you graduate. I have been asked countless times if I was going to work at a company, but the answer is no. I decided that I had the rest of my life to work, but I don't have the rest of my life to take weeks of vacation and see the world. So instead of working this summer, that is what I will be doing instead.
I do not believe that my summer will be going to waste though. There is so much to learn about travel, that can help me with my future career, and here are 3 things I have learned so far.
1. Taking responsibility for my actions.
When you travel alone, no one else is planning anything for you to do, so making plans in these different areas requires a lot of responsibility. When you travel, you take responsibility for getting around safely and making it to where you need to on time.
2. The ability to adjust to changing situations
When you travel, the majority of the time something will not go as planned, and you will just have to adjust to the changing situation. This will also happen in the workplace, sometimes you will have to change and adapt to what is happening around you.
3.Tolerance of other cultures.
When you travel, you'll interact with people from all over the world, with different backgrounds than yourself. With these experiences under your belt, it will make it
