3 Simple Ways God Shows His Love For You Everyday

God is love, and everything He does is out of love.

In our day-to-day lives, we tend to forget this simple, but true, statement. When life gets busy and stressful, we get bogged down. The to-do list piles up, and some days, it feels like we just can't win. As believers, we are supposed to put our faith in Him, pray to Him continuously, and remember His love for us on the good days and the bad. As humans we are imperfect. That means effectively achieving these goals is hard to do at times. We are sinners. We make mistakes, but through it all, God is always there. He shows his love in big ways and in little ways. His love is all around. So, take a moment today to reflect on His love and the things He is doing/has done in your life. If you're having a hard time seeing His love that is all around you, here are some ways He is speaking to you every day.

He woke you up this morning.

You might hear this one frequently, but it doesn't take away from the power of the statement. God woke you up this morning. He woke you up because He loves you, and He has plans for you for the day. He wants you to go out and spread kindness, love, and His word.

He brings people to you, whether for the long term or the short term, and teaches you in the process.

Everyone comes into your life for a reason: His reasons. Yes, that includes your best friends, family, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. Everyone that has been around for the long term was brought to you because God sent them. But, this also includes those who are only around for a short amount of time. This can mean five minutes, two days, a month, or just a year. That sweet, elderly woman that you met in the check-out line at Walmart today? God put her there for a reason. Maybe she needed a good laugh and you needed a pick-me-up or vice versa. Either way, she was put in your life for those few minutes for a reason, and so is everyone else. This is His way of showing His love for us because He wants us to love each other and learn lessons in the process.

He challenges you.

Life isn't easy. God challenges us every day to prepare us for the future and bring us closer to Him. You may be struggling with school or work or a relationship at the moment, but it is all in an effort to strengthen you in your relationship with Him and show you that as a believer, as a son or daughter of Christ, you have the ability to persevere through whatever challenges life presents you. He is standing by your side through it all. You are never alone in the fight.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
