3 Reasons To Plan Your Ecuador Vacation

Ecuador is one of the most visited countries in South America. While one of the smaller areas on the continent, Ecuador, with destinations ranging from the Galápagos Islands to the Amazon River and occupying stunning views from its Pacific coastline, attracts more than 1.5 million tourists annually. If you need a reason to be one of these 1.5 million tourists yourself, here's three:

1. Weather

Ecuador's most coveted asset continually proves to be its weather. With the Mitad del Mundo ("Center of the World") also known as the equator, located directly in Ecuador's capital of Quito, a subtropical climate and an elevation of 9,000 feet make for a mild climate year-round with temperature drops at night.

From Quito, it is only a mere 2 hour drive to the enchanted rainforest where you can bask in a warm climate year round or, two hours in the opposite direction offers a brisk and chilly climate among erupting volcanoes and mountain ranges.

It is easy to understand how everyone can find his or her perfect climate in this beautiful country.

2. Nightlife

Whether you're staying in a big city such as Quito or Guayaquil, or want to venture out across the smaller parts of the country, Ecuador offers unforgettable nightlife.

If you're in to a "bar hopping" scene, check out Baños. When the sun goes down in this old historic town the locals and travelers from near and far emerge into the streets to party until the early hours of the morning.

Music in the bars as well as the discotecas vary but you can expect American throwbacks as well as the latest Latin hits. And, if you can't dance- no worries. The locals always enjoy an opportunity to teach their moves to anyone willing to learn.

3. Culture

Culture in Latin America is, for the most part, quite similar among the various countries. The language is the same (save for a few regional colloquialisms) and the food is delicious everywhere. However, what sets Ecuadorian culture apart from the rest is its people. Ecuadorians are very warm, welcoming, and exceedingly generous. Family dinners do not just include those living in the household, but rather include close and distant relatives alike who often drive long distances to simply partake in a meal with kin. No one ever leaves hungry in Ecuador.

Overall, this diverse country offers activities and destination visits one would need a lifetime to complete. However, Ecuador's culture and history will make even a weary vacationer look forward to a speedy return visit.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
