3 Reasons Why I Love Spring Break

Spring break has its ups and downs. It is that half way point during the semester where you were stressed out beforehand with midterms or you are stressing because midterms are coming. So either you get to enjoy your break, or you have to worry about studying. There is no in between. However, I really enjoy spring break and here is a list of three reasons why:

1. The weather is perfect.

I'm from Chicago, so compared to the weather in Minnesota, it feels a lot better. It's not too cold or too hot; it's right in the middle. Which makes it enjoyable to be able to go out and explore or stay in and relax.

2. Traveling!

Spring Break is a perfect time to travel, especially too warmer and more tropical places. It's the one time during the year, that provides a very good opportunity too go on some sort of trip with family or friends. You can spend it on a beach somewhere or road-tripping. Personally for me, it gives me a great opportunity to come back to Chicago, and chill in my city.

3. Summer break is around the corner.

After spring break ends, there are only six weeks left of school. This means that I only have too survive 37 days of classes. After that, I have finals and then let summer break begin. This motivates me to push through.

So, although things get more stressful after spring break, during that break it is a good time to recharge and relax for a bit. Spring break for me is a time to forget about everything and everyone back at school. It's a time for me to focus on myself, and to prepare myself mentally for what's to come. Spring break is just awesome!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
