3 Reasons Why You Should Consider Adopting Your Next Dog

All of my animal lovers out there, specifically dog lovers, I encourage you all to consider adoption the next time you are thinking about extending your family. My family and I recently adopted our new dog Bernie, and he has changed our lives for the better. There are three main reasons why you should consider adoption. Trust me. Give it a try, and you will not regret it. To learn more about the love of my life, Bernie, make sure to check out my latest video at theodysseyonline.com/@carringtonnovovids.

1. Giving a life the opportunity to begin living

It is so rewarding to give a dog the love and home they deserve. No life deserves to be deserted, homeless, alone, etc. The warmth you will feel from supplying a dog that has had a rough life, that doesn’t even understand the concept of love or family, is truly one of a kind. There is no better feeling than watching a dog lay on a bed, receive full meals and love for the first time. Knowing that you are the one that gave your newly adopted dog a better life will fill you with so much joy.

2. Form an unbreakable bond

The bond you will create with an adopted dog is one of a kind. The dog that you adopt will immediately become extremely attached to you because they know that you are the one that saved them, that gave them a chance to live a happy life. You will feel extremely attached to your dog as well because you will immediately form a strong, deep love for your dog due to watching your dog become happy, confident and comfortable. You will automatically form a special bond with your newly adopted dog because of what you have done for their life and what they have done for yours.

3. Watch your dog’s journey to happiness

The best thing about adopting a dog is watching their change in personality and temperament from the first day you adopt them to a few months later. Some dogs that go up for adoption have had horrible lives, some were abandoned or abused. This results in their personality when you first meet them, some are timid and shy. It is amazing how adoption can turn the dog’s entire personality around, they will begin to be social, wag their tale, play, and show more affection. Adopted dogs will eventually become confident and happy, which allows dogs to begin living their lives without fear. It is amazing to watch and your dog’s transition into happiness will be something you will always hold near and dear to your heart.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
