As the end of the semester is finally creeping upon us, it gets harder and harder to find the strength in us to finish. The work the professors give us seems pointless to do. Big group projects make it harder to get through. Maybe it's just life in general that's getting to you, perhaps because of what's happening with family or friends. Maybe it's your own anxiety about the next phases in life. These quotes can help us keep the balance, remember what we have ahead of us, and put us in a different perspective.
"There had been times when he knew, somewhere in him, that he would get used to it, whatever it was, because he learnt that some hard things became softer after a very little while." – Nick Hornby
As things get harder and harder throughout life, we learn that this becomes normal and that life, frankly, likes to throw really hard curveballs our way. We just need to prepare for the next one.
"It takes a lot of courage to push through hard times. Never give up. Good things are coming your way." – Robert Tew
Despite these curveballs, life will give us an easy pitch that leads to a home run. Even on strike two, we still have the hope that the next one will be just right. We just have to get through the fact that we have two strikes and not fear what the next one will be. For instance, maybe you have a test you didn't do so well on, but you decided that you're going to study so hard and make sure you understand every bit of material. Then all your hard work earned you an A!
"Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world." – Nelson Mandela
You came to school to get an education, and no matter what field you're going into, you can somehow make an impact with what you're doing. If you write, you make impact with your words. If you study some kind of science, you're aiming to somehow change the lives of others. If you're an engineer, you're wanting to fix things in the best way possible. The list of possibilities goes on and on! Keep in mind what you came to school to do, and just remember that wherever you are, you can get through this and make the world a better place.
