3 Major Reasons Why I Celebrate National Sisters' Day

There are so many reasons why I celebrate National Sisters’ Day. There are also SO many people out there who do not know that this holiday even exists.

  • I grew up with my brothers. I played and grew up with just my brothers until I turned fifteen. When I was fifteen years old, my life changed. I always wished for a sister and I was extremely close to female cousins that were younger than I was. I never could have imagined that I would have a sister while I was in my mid-teenage stage. This was when I became really into fashion and make-up. I got to take that fun sense of teenhood and place it on my beautiful young sister.

  • My sister is my mini-me. I am her role model and I want her to fully understand how important she, and the rest of my family, is to me. I hope that she will want to continue to celebrate this with me in the future. I am an influencer in her life and I have never been an influence on a female in my life. I can teach her that females can do anything they could dream.

  • She is one of my best friends. We are extremely close and I want her to know that we are close. Anytime I go out I want to pick her up a new toy or clothes, but I also want to take her to lunch all the time. I left high school with little to no friends, but my sister is with me all the way. Make your family your best friends. They are there longer than any other friend you would have. My sister is my best friend, obviously. The age portion does not matter too much to me. She will still be growing up when I am hitting important milestones like marriage and kids.

I will be celebrating National Sisters’ Day. I will always celebrate it because my sister is one of the most important people in my life and has influenced me to be a better person. Because of my sister, I know that I will be able to be a decent mother. I have taken care of her since she was an infant and my knowledge is wide for a nineteen year old. I love her to the moon and back.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
