I love movies. I will sit and watch almost anything. If you're anything like me, some movies come and go in a blur, but there are others you think about after and watch more than once, or that even become a staple in your cycle. These quotes are from some movies that stuck with me and I watch again and again. We learn from the world around us and movies and TV are a large part of that.

“No one can make you inferior without your consent.”

This line from "The Princess Diaries" is the one line from any movie that has stuck with me the most. Now, I know, I know, Eleanor Roosevelt said it first, but the context and the emotion behind it are what has made it stick for me. Sometimes it is easier said than done, but things people do and say can only bother you if you let them. Not everyone is going to like you and you are the only person who can determine if that hurts you or not.

"What? Like it's hard?"

My queen Elle. This is just the ultimate petty, girl power quote for me. She achieved something no one thought she could and worked her a** off, but the power move is him thinking that it was a breeze. Warner did not have any respect or esteem for Elle and she achieved the same accomplishments as him, in less time. She is the personification of achieving anything you put your mind to.

"You control your destiny – you don’t need magic to do it. And there are no magical shortcuts to solving your problems."

Disney movies often have a deeper message than what's on the surface, but this quote from "Brave" hits the nail on the head for me. I know I'm not alone in that, from time to time, I wish there was a magic wand to solve my problems. This quote shows the truth in that we are the magic wand, and we are responsible for what happens.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
