For some/most of us, we did not like the way the Presidential election happened. The person who won the Presidential election has no political experience and is basically a celebrity. We are losing an extraordinary and great President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. The U.S. House of Representatives will consist mostly of Republicans than Democrats again.
With all of these things happening and more, it seems change will never come.
You may have voted for other things that were on the ballot and it may not have turn out the way you wanted to, but you still have the ability to change that.
Here are three important things to remember after this presidential election:
1. Voting Matters
I have heard various people say that "Voting does not matter." That statement itself is blasphemous and is not true. You can not expect change by voting in the Presidential election and not vote in your local and state elections Voting is a process and therefore requires you to be at all elections because state representatives and senators play a crucial role in our government and laws they pass.
2. Be the change you want to be
I think a lot of times we say that we want change but do not want to do what it takes to achieve it. To become the change that you vision, it begins with you. You have to be able to do the right thing (even if that means being the bigger person) and realize you are human. Be accountable for your actions but influence others through your actions.
3. Help, Listen and LOVE each other.
While it may tough to hold people accountable, you can help others and also learn from them. Love is one of the greatest and best things you can ever do. You do not have to agree with everybody or like their opinions and actions. Instead, you can be respectful to them and show love to them. By showing love to everybody, we can be able to move forward and become better people.
