I live in North Carolina and love hiking and mountain biking on the plentiful trails my area has to offer.
But recently, I haven't been chasing waterfalls; I've been chasing overlooks and views.
This is my official list of the best overlooks I have been to, so if you are taking a trip up north, give these a visit.
You won't regret it!
1. Max Patch Bald
Located off the Appalachian Trail (AT), this hike leads to up to the top of a bald mountain. It offers a beautiful 360 degree view and is my favorite stop on the AT!
2. Black Balsam Knob
Black Balsam is probably the most famous overlook/view in all of NC! Located off the Blue Ridge Parkway, this is a simple hike for an amazing view. I took this image when I visited and hiked over the winter.
3. Symmes Chapel
This chapel is commonly known as "Pretty Place" and is a part of the YMCA camp in South Carolina (it is 5 minutes from the SC-NC border). It is easy to access and there is no hike involved! Always check online here to make sure it is open because this is one of the most popular wedding venues in SC/NC!
