3 Annoying Things About Thanksgiving

Every holiday has its issues.

3 Annoying Things About Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving coming up it is time to reflect on the holiday’s aspects that are annoying.

1. Not Being Able to Relax

To me, the perfect way to spend a holiday is to literally do nothing all day and not have to worry about maintaining interactions, or cleaning the house and preparing food. In my family, my household normally hosts holidays, usually Christmas, but we’ve started doing Thanksgiving as well, and it’s pretty awful. We spend all day cleaning. With my mom freaking out the whole day, being stressed, worrying about cooking, all the way up until the family comes. The family is normally late, too. And who knows when they’ll leave. It’s very hard to relax in your house when you’re worried about entertaining guests.

2. Awkward Family Encounters

My family isn’t super tight, and what I mean by that is that I’m the youngest and my cousins are close to ten years older than me. So it’s pretty hard to engage in normal conversations, especially when your family sticks to the stereotype that you are quiet and don’t engage with them, so they always act surprised when you actually try to have a conversation with them.

3. Lack of Food Options

This holiday has become all about food, and when you have a wheat allergy the holiday loses its appeal. Sure I can eat turkey and veggies, but I honestly miss out on all the good stuff.

Hopefully your Thanksgiving will be more fun than mine.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
