I always thought my life was missing something. Don't get me wrong, I had everything anybody could ever ask for -- a supportive mom, awesome friends and the opportunity to continue my education by going to college. What more could a girl ask for, right? (Well, besides having Justin Bieber as my boyfriend). But I always felt empty, until I found Jesus. So I would like to share with all of you the 3 amazing things that happen if you decide to follow Him, too.

1. You are happy.

Before God came into my life, I thought happiness was short-lived. I was scared every time I felt like things were going well for once and that I could be happy. Why? Because every time I let myself be happy, I was always knocked down again. It got to the point where I didn't want to be happy because of how sh*tty the downfall would be. But through God, I have learned that happiness is not at all short-lived. Happiness is eternal when you follow Him. I didn't become happier because the Lord promised me a higher income or a bigger house or better clothes, because that is not what He promises. He promises that if you follow Him, despite the suffering you will have to face, you will be rewarded in the end with eternal happiness with Him forever, behind the gates of Heaven. I can now confidently say I live a happier, richer, and fuller life after committing myself to the Lord.

2. You are never alone.

I admit that I absolutely fear being alone. I hate feeling like I am the only person I can depend on, the only person I can confide in, the only person who truly cares about myself. After all, who knows myself more than I do, right? Wrong. God knows your strengths and weaknesses. He knows when you feel like you can't take another day of this life. He knows when you beat yourself up for not succeeding and getting that promotion you were up for or acing that exam you have been studying your ass off for. He knows. He knows all of this and still wants you. He knows all of this and wants to be there for you. Do not be afraid to trust in God. Do not be afraid to turn to Him, despite how many years you have spent ignoring Him. God does not want you to be alone. He understands how hectic life can get, but do not ice him out. He wants to be there for you, provide for you, and see you succeed. God is there, always.

3. You do not have to worry.

I spend a lot of my time worrying. I worry about school, my personal life, and my future. What if I didn't ace that final I spent countless days and nights studying for? What if I never find "my perfect man?" What if the job I have been dreaming of since I was in kindergarten doesn't work out? It is part of our human nature to worry, we just want everything in our lives to be OK. So we carry it around on our backs, letting our fear overpower us. But God wants to take that load off of you. He wants you to not worry. He wants you to trust Him with your life and future. What good is it to exert all your time and energy worrying over circumstances you can't even control? Unlike you, God can control these circumstances. He wants you to succeed and live a full life doing what you love most with the person you love most. Place all your fears in Him. Trust Him. Then watch how your life changes.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
