In the past teams that have gone to win the one game playoff go far in the postseason. Having one game decide if you’re in the postseason or not is good for the game and makes everything more intense. The first year they did this was a success as TV ratings went up and fans enjoyed it. The Postseason is an emotional time for many players but knowing your one win away from going home or moving on makes them motivated. This year the wildcard race is better then ever and people pay attention too it. Being at home in the playoffs helps but in the past couple of year it hasn’t mattered. This will be the 5th year doing this and all of baseball loves what it does for the game. Major League baseball has made the steps to make sure baseball is one of the greatest games.
