Last Monday, the Metropolitan Museum of Art opened its annual fashion exhibit. This year’s theme is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”. Every first Monday in May, all the celebrities get together to celebrate the annual fashion exhibit at the Met dressed to the nines according to the theme. This year, the trends were very particular to the theme of the exhibit this year. There were many outfits in white and silver among other trends.
Here are what I believe to be the best looks of the night.
1. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Ralph Lauren Collection with her silver accents. Although elegant, I think she was playing it safe in her outfit.
2. Margot Robbie
Margot was looking beautiful in Calvin Klein Collection. I loved her gold wrist cuffs.
3. Emma Stone
She was wearing a Prada dress. Her belt was reminiscent of the inner workings of a locked Gringotts door. This is meant in a good way.
4. Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica Parker faced a lot of mean comments about her outfit (Monse and Fred Leighton jewelry) that night. However, I really enjoyed her look and thought it was reminiscent of her Carrie Bradshaw days. I think it speaks to the idea that when moving forward in technology, some people tend to regress back to old-fashioned days.
5. Fei Fei Sun
Her look was simple and beautiful and spoke to the theme in a great way.
6. Alicia Vikander
Her Louis Vuitton dress was fun and modern especially with the different types of the fabrics sewn together.
7. Beyonce
Her Givenchy latex dress was obviously the talk of the night.
8. Blake Lively
Her dress also has a shiny quality that speaks to a more modern age.
9. Amandla Stenberg
I loved how simple her outfit was but her accessories made the whole look complete.
10. Anna Kendrick
Her fishnet like quality in her dress and the beautiful blue made her look like a beautiful mermaid!
11. Zendaya
Zendaya amazed me last year with her gorgeous outfit last year (the cover photo). Her outfits really shows how she takes the theme to heart. Her hair is more of a post-apocalyptic look and the theme plays out even through the tightness and the shiny-ness of her dress.
12. Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita’s dress is absolutely beautiful. I liked that Lupita wore a shimmery green gown rather than the silver like other celebrities wore for the event that night.
13. Brie Larson
I loved how her Proenza Schouler dress is accented with her slicked back bun and burgundy lips. She looks so serious and beautiful.
14. Emma Watson
When does she not look flawless?
15. Kate Hudson
I love the structural quality of her dress.
16. Karolina Karpova
This Marchesa dress is so beautiful; it makes me speechless. I want to wear this dress.
17. Mindy Kaling
She looks so bridal and the white looks so shiny, it almost hurts my eyes. I also love her keyboard-looking clutch.
18. Kendall Jenner
I love the structural quality of her dress as well and I love how complicated it looks.
19. Kate Bosworth
Her ensemble makes her look so regal!!
20. Amber Valletta
Her outfit made me think that this is what technology looks like.
21. Hailee Steinfeld
I love the bodice of this dress and how gorgeous the dress is!!
22. Rita Ora
This dress is so beautiful. I like the different take on the silver. I wish that I had the fashion kind of courage to pull off this kind of outfit.
23. Claire Danes

I had to add two photos because this was my favorite dress of the night: It lights up in the dark!!! She just looked like a modern-day Cinderella.
The men:
24. Idris Elba
25. Nick Jonas
26. Rami Malek
I love how classic and dapper they all look.
The couples:
27. Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik
The theme was wonderfully played out in their outfits.
28. Bella Hadid & The Weeknd
I mean, Bella’s dress. Like I can’t.
29. Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban
Nicole’s dress is so beautiful. I love how the night sky is represented in her dress. These last two couples look so good together.
