HGTV

If you're familiar with HGTV, or any home renovating shows really, you probably (definitely) have heard of the show "Fixer Upper" and its star couple Chip and Joanna Gaines. If you're anything like the rest of us, you've not only heard of the show, but you may have developed a slight (major) obsession with it and its stars. From an overwhelming passion for shiplap to a desire to knock down every wall you see, here are 28 symptoms of the "Fixer Upper" addict.

1. You are very passionate about open floor plans.

Walls are public enemy number one.

2. When someone says they’re from Waco you immediately wonder if they know Chip and Jojo.

3. You trust their guidance more than your own parents.

4. You find yourself appraising houses as you drive by them.

5. You become thoroughly stressed when unforeseen problems pop up on demo day.

Foundation issues? Water damage? Please say it isn't so.

6. You contemplate all of the places you could put shiplap in your bedroom.

Answer: everywhere.

7. Visiting the Magnolia store is now on your bucket list.

8. Every time you walk into someone’s home, you immediately decide which walls should be taken out.

Every day should be demo day.

9. You feel like no room is complete without a set of French doors.

Or two sets... or seven.

10. Whenever you walk on carpet you feel the need to make a bet with your friends about whether or not there’s hardwood under it.

11. You could name all of the Gaines’ kids like your own little siblings.

But Emmy is your favorite.

12. Every time you have to decorate a room, you ask yourself what Joanna would do.

Probably paint everything white.

13. You could probably look at a cardboard box and still wonder what its reno budget would be.

14. You can tell which decade a home was built in just by looking at it.

Wood paneling? Carpet in the bathroom? Clearly built in the 70s.

15. You don’t live in a dorm room, you live in a one bed half-bath home.

16. Whenever a family has a budget over $300,000 you’re automatically pumped to see what Joanna can do with all that cash.

17. When Chip and Jojo show the couple an absolute dump and they pick another house, you get mad because you wanted to see what they could do with the awful one.

Why couldn't you see the dream?

18. Kitchen islands can always be bigger. Always.

19. You’re probably way too familiar with Waco neighborhoods for someone who lives nowhere near Waco.

20. You pre-ordered "The Magnolia Story" months in advance.

21. You practically screamed when you saw that Fixer Upper had been added to Netflix.

22. Natural wood accents are very important to your stylistic vision.

*Insert Joey Gladstone Mr. Woodchuck impersonation here*

23. Chip jumping through a wall to knock it down on demo day no longer surprises you.

24. You know that popcorn ceilings always have to go. They just have to.

25. You sarcastically laugh at Chip’s jokes even more than Joanna does.

26. If the wood in someone’s house isn’t distressed you find yourself asking why it’s even there.

27. Old, rusty objects are no longer trash to you. They're wall accents.

28. No matter how many great TV couples come around, you will always know that Chip and Jojo are the ultimate relationship goals.

You may waste the majority of your time trying to catch new episodes on HGTV and re-watching old ones on Netflix, but hey at least your taste for home design is out of this world. Go forth with your love of exposed brick and wrapped beams, and make Chip and Jojo proud.

Supportive and spontaneous human beings are the best.

Theater Kids

Throughout school, the theater department has always been my go-to place with go-to people when I need advice, a dance party, or just someone to listen to me vent.

You never know what's going to happen when you're dealing with theatre or what kind of characters you'll encounter. We have too much fun doing anything! One time in my senior year acting class, we spent an entire class period watching Bob's Burgers, and it was the greatest class period ever.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.
