The Office is not your traditional sitcom. It’s filmed in a documentary style that is as dry as the show’s humor. Still (and sometimes because of that), The Office has managed to captivate countless fans and fanatics. As many of you have, I have laughed, cried, and fallen in love with the characters that make this show so great. This list can by no means do justice to how brilliant these characters are, but it is a small tribute:

1. Pam and Jim’s love story

Although it took these two a while to get together, they have such a sweet story. Yes, it was frustrating at times, but Jim and Pam teach us a lot about love, compromise, and enjoying life.

2. Michael Scott’s understanding of the English language

Lol, oh Michael. "I'm not superstitious, just a little stitious."

3. Dwight’s shenanigans

At first, I thought Dwight was a maniac. He grows on you though.

4. Ryan’s attitude

The Office wouldn't be the same without Ryan's snarky little comments, and occasional eye rolls.

5. Jim’s pranks

The pranks may go a bit far sometimes, but let's be real, Jim is a pranking genius.

6. Stanley’s sassiness

This is only a small taste of how sassy he can be.

7. Meredith’s confidence

She may not be your typical mom, but she sure is confident.

8. Creed, just Creed.

Creed is pretty much living under a rock, but I think he likes it that way.

9. Kevin’s ability to eat M&Ms

Oh Kevin... sweet, sweet Kevin.

10. The Michael Scott Paper Company

When three of the most unlikely characters came together, and made something great happen (even though not a lot of paper was actually sold).

11. Michael Scott’s understanding of the world around him

For those of you who know who Don Quixote is, wouldn't you say Michael Scott is the modern day version of him?

12. Dwight and Angela’s scandalous relationship

Oh dear -- Dwight and Angela definitely bring some heat to The Office.

13. Phyllis’ knitting skills

Phyllis' knitting abilities complement her sweet, quirky nature well.

14. Darryl’s musical abilities

Mr. Philbin can sing, dance, and play piano. Who could ask for more?

15. Jo Bennett's authoritative personality

Jo is something else. That's for sure.

16. Kelly’s love for Ryan

Kelly tries so hard, and Ryan doesn't try at all.

17. Toby’s relationship with Michael

No one can explain Michael's hatred for Tobi, but poor Tobi does his best to love Michael anyways.

18. Andy’s banjo skills

I'm already putting my hands to my ears in anticipation.

19. Holly’s love for Michael

It takes a special woman to love Michael Scott.

20. Erin’s quirky characteristics

She may be very odd, but Erin really does have a sweet heart.

21. Angela’s strange love for cats

Angela on the other hand... Well, she's just really very odd.

22. Oscar’s outlook on Michael

Ha! So true... Oscar only hides his true feelings about him the day Michael leaves Scranton for good, but somehow, they are still friends.

23. Pam and Jim’s kids

We don't get to meet Cece and Philip often, but they are pretty stinkin' cute. It's pretty great to watch Pam and Jim be parents too.

24. Gabe's frequently freakish characteristics

Umm...

25. Pam’s art skills

Her art is as sweet, and intentional as her person.

26. The Bob Vance Refrigeration Company

Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration ladies and gentlemen...

27. Michael and Holly’s love story

There is something different about their relationship. Yes, they aren't perfect, but there are some really great things about their relationship that I want to emulate in mine.

28. Michael Scott’s love for his employees

His love may not be entirely unconditional, but Michael Scott is one of the most caring bosses you'll ever meet. No matter how many times his employees shrug him off, or annoy him with their personalities, they are his family. The Office is a family.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
