28 Reasons We Love Zac Efron

On Oct. 18, we the people of this beautiful country, had something incredible to celebrate.

On this glorious day, Zac Efron turned 28.

Yes, America's beloved hair-flipping-basketball-playing-dancing-blue eyed-heartthrob aged one year older last Sunday *cue the sound of a thousand teenage girls' hearts breaking*. We fell in love with Zac back in 2006 when we saw him on The Disney Channel portraying star high school basketball player, Troy Bolton, who struggled with juggling his dream of starring in the "spring musical" with the most beautiful girl to walk the planet, Vanessa Hudgens, and keeping his head in the game. To celebrate Zac Efron turning 28, I thought we should look back over the past 10 years and appreciate Zac for the heaven-sent man he is (mainly due to his eight-pack abs).

1. His eyes in "Charlie St. Cloud."

2. When he blessed us with this moves in "HSM 2."

3. His perfectly quaffed flow in the "HSM Trilogy."

4. His ability to embody Matthew Perry in "17 Again."

5. His bromance with Seth Rogen.

6. That time Rita Ora ripped his shirt off at the MTV Movie Awards.

7. SOARIN', FLYIN' (the best song ever written).

8. This scene.

9. Seriously, he could flip charred meat for the whole movie and I would still pay to see it.

10. This. Just this.

11. He introduced us to his equally attractive *younger* brother.

12. He's acted in multiple movies with Dave Franco and the two of them together makes dreams come true.

13. Did I mention Dave Franco?

14. He taught us how to gracefully prance across golf courses and stages.

15. He encouraged us that you can play high school basketball, become the star of the school musical, and go to college only an hour away from the love of your life if you set your mind to it. *We're all in this together.*

16. He made us believe that we, too, would meet the love of our lives at a ski resort while singing karaoke.

17. He can perform many different genres. #neverforgetHairspray

18. This picture.

19. Seriously, you could bake cookies on those abs.

20. We've seen his dancing skills for better and for worse (we're looking at you "HSM 1").

21. BET ON IT, BET ON IT

22. He even looks good falling into a pool.

23. He was our first crush (maybe other than Aaron Carter, or anyone from N*SYNC).

24. This picture of him with a puppy.

25. He sang "Breaking Free" while in a *white* track suit.

26. He makes us feel like he's speaking to our souls with every blink of his beautiful blue eyes.

27. But he'll always be our gap-toothed Troy Bolton.

28. And, finally, he taught us that age is nothing more than a number because 28 has never looked so good.

Here's to many more years of watching you sing, dance, act, and just looking so freakin' beautiful every single day. Happy birthday, Zac!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

19 Lessons I'll Never Forget from Growing Up In a Small Town

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
