27 Signs You Were Born And Raised In Rhode Island

To many people, Rhode Island is known for being the smallest state. Bordered by Connecticut and Massachusetts, Rhody does not always get the appreciation it deserves. Although it may be a small state, it is full of people with big hearts, restaurants with great food, and landmarks with beautiful views. Here are a few signs you were born and raised in the best state:

1. Everyone thinks that you live in Long Island, New York, and you have to explain that it's actually its own state.

2. You aren't afraid of the Big Blue Bug.

3. You own something from Job Lot or Benny's.

4. You have called another driver a "Masshole."

5. Your favorite treat is from Newport Creamery, and it's not as "Awful Awful" as they say.

6. You can't go a summer without Del's.

7. You can drive across the whole state in less than an hour.

8. Whenever you go on vacation, you always find another Rhode Islander.

9. Your home and vacation home are in the same state.

10. A water fountain is a "bubbler."

11. You give directions based on landmarks.

12. Allie's makes the best donuts in the world.

13. You think that driving more than 25 minutes is too far.

14. You can always find coffee milk in the fridge.

15. You have a "wicked" accent.

16. You never ask anyone for their area code, because you know it is 401.

17. You know who Alan Shawn Feinstein is.

18. You've popped a tire on a pot hole.

19. You learned to ski at Yawgoo Valley.

20. The line at Iggy's is worth the wait.

21. The best things to do in Providence include: Federal Hill, the Dunkin Donuts Center, the Waterfire, and the Providence Place Mall.

22. You've been to Watch Hill in the hopes of meeting Taylor Swift.

23. You still have the license plate you got when you were 16.

24. You know what a Quahog is.

25. You know Newport for the cliff walk, tours of the mansions, and shopping on Thames.

26. You are almost always less than 30 minutes from a beach.

27. As much as you complain about it, you will never stray far from home.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
