27 Questions You Still Ask Your Mom At 27

Yeah, 27 is considered an adult but is there really a limit to the amount of dumb questions you can ask at that age? I don't believe so.

We all honestly thought we would have life figured out at 27. We figured our lives would be in order enough to only bug our moms for the random "how to take care of children" questions.

Here I am, at 27, unmarried living with a cat and really struggling with this whole adult thing. I assumed I knew it all until I moved away from my mom three years ago. I was never more wrong, as I call my mom on a daily basis to ask the dumbest things. Here are a few things that many 27-year-olds should know but still ask mom anyways.

1. Why do I have to separate my clothes? I feel like it won't change anything if I shove it all in the washer/dryer together.

2. Am I a baby? (Asked on numerous occasions especially after a few glasses of wine.)

3. Can I put this in the microwave or does it really have to be on the stove?

4. How do I cook (food item)? (Make sure to ask said question over FaceTime)

5. Do I have to follow the recipe or can I skip this step?

6. I have a sharp pain in my side, should I go to the hospital?

7. I have a pain behind my eye, am I dying?

8. Do you think this migraine is because I haven't had caffeine today?

9. Why do you never include me in plans anymore?

10. Should I get another cat?

11. Should I get a dog?

12. What is a good price for an apartment if I don't want a roommate?

13. Why do you like my siblings more than me?

14. Why do you keep saying I will make a cool aunt one day?

15. How many Advil can I take before I make myself sick and overdose?

16. You really think it's okay to take all this medicine?

17. Do you have a (clothing item) I can borrow or do I have to buy one?

18. How long do I cook (food item)?

19. Are you sure it won't turn out disgusting?

20. Is this pot/pan big enough for all this food this should be making?

21. Am I going to fail out of grad school?

22. Is grad school even a good decision?

23. I want to quit my job, can I just live off school loans until I graduate?

24. Did you freeze any of the soup you made?

25. Can I get back on your phone bill?

26. Why can't you just baby me?

27. Where are you and when are you visiting?

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
