Everyone looks forward to the summer, tan skin, warm nights, and relaxation. However, do you ever come across a day where you just can’t seem to find something to do? Plans fell through or it decided to rain? Even though it’s sad to say, boredom does occur but fear not, here is a list of simple ideas to preoccupy your time. Print it out and "X" out all the ideas you’ve successfully completed or just reference it on the days you are at a loss. Enjoy and happy summer!

1. Next time there is a rainstorm, grab some shampoo and conditioner, go outside, and wash your hair, you’ll thank me once you feel how soft your hair is.

2. Create a time capsule with your best friends and make predictions of each other’s futures.

3. On a rainy day, build a fort like just as you did when you were younger and treat yourself to some old school Disney movies.

4. Set time aside to create that DIY you’ve had saved on your Pinterest board for months now.

5. Collect your favorite pictures and create a scrapbook.

6. Learn a new skill (sewing, crocheting, knitting, etc.)

7. Buy a journal and set aside 15 minutes a day to write about whatever you want.

8. Buy a canvas and three different colors of paint and see what you can create.

9. Hike at least three different mountains, take pictures, and really take in the beauty of the view.

10. Find your favorite makeup tutorial and try to successfully replicate it.

11. Go to the library, pick up the first book you find, and read it for at least a half hour (you may end up liking it).

12. Go through your closet and donate anything you no longer wear.

13. Go to a café alone, get a coffee, and just people watch.

14. Go to an antique shop and buy one thing you can refurnish.

15. Be spontaneous and dye your hair a color you’ve always been thinking about.

16. Buy a few different plant seeds and create a garden.

17. Turn your phone off and see how long you can last without it.

18. Star gaze and realize how small you are in this big world.

19. Go to Netflix, select a random movie, and watch it (sometimes they end up being the best ones).

20. Go to Denny’s at midnight and get a stack of three wheat pancakes (again you’ll thank me later).

21. Create a homemade slip and slide. Yes, this involves a large tarp and dish soap.

22. Buy a bag of marshmallows and do the chubby bunny challenge.

23. Make a homemade face mask.

24. Volunteer at an animal shelter.

25. Make a mixed CD and plan a road trip.

26. Take a picture every day and see how things evolve.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
