Life isn't always sunshine and a canceled 8 a.m., so for the times that make you want to throw your textbook out the window, here's a list of things to try and make yourself feel better.

1. Make a cup of tea

Somehow drinking a cup of tea always gives me a new outlook on life. I would recommend Passionfruit for a day you're feeling down, it's a perfect pick-me-up.

2. Call your mom (or your dad)

I know this always helps me, and I hang up feeling like I have a new outlook on my life.

3. Go for a walk and get in touch with nature

Fresh air and sunshine do wonders.

4. Watch the sunrise in the morning and the moon and stars at night

The earth resets itself every day, sometimes taking part in it will help you do the same.

5. Find your inner peace

I advocate yoga, but your own choice of meditation and getting in touch with your inner self is always helpful.

6. Listen to your favorite music

Let what you love reshape your mindset.

7. Treat yourself to your favorite food

'Cause why not?

8. Make a list of things you'd like to change

...and then start doing it

9. Count the number of times you smile throughout the day

You'd be surprised how many it'll be. Keep track of why you smile and you can recall them when you need.

10. Do some volunteer work

Helping someone else will always make you feel better about yourself.

11. Go on a day trip

Get out of your regular space for a while. Escape.

12. Write yourself a letter about who you want to be

13. And next time you're having a bad day, come back to it and see how far you've come

14. Rearrange your room/ organize your space

Clean space, clean mind. Also, moving things around will grant you a new perspective on the same space. Start small and the big things will follow.

15. Read a book

Let yourself get lost in the literary world for a while.

16. Tell someone you love them (they'll probably say it back)

Everyone just wants to feel loved. Go make someone's day and yours will get better.

17. Go to the gym or for a run

Exercise will always help. Go sweat it out.

18. Revisit some throwback music

Oh, the glory days.

19. Reconnect with someone you've lost touch with

Chances are they'll have wanted to hear from you.

20. Take a moment to re-hydrate

Most of us don't drink enough water, and you'd be surprised how much better you feel once you've got enough in your system.

21. Focus on your breathing

Take the extra moment to just breathe. It's the little things.

22. Think about the last time you did something for the first time

23. Do something creative

Good old fashioned finger painting can change your life.

24. Bake some cookies

Who didn't love that when they were a kid?

25. Remember that tomorrow will be better

Every day is an opportunity for a fresh start.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
