Let's be honest, one of our favorite parts of the Christmas season is watching Christmas movies and specials. Therefore, here are the Top 25 things you need to watch this Christmas season.

25. Unaccompanied Minors (2006)

Low quality, but still highly underrated movie.

24. Rudolph's Shiny New Year (1976)

Old, poor quality TV special, but it's a classic.

23. Prep & Landing (2009, 2011)

Newer Disney special, and it has a sequel that came out a few years later. Cute and funny special.

22. Frosty The Snowman (1969)

A classic.

21. Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town (1970)

20. A Christmas Carol (1984)

There are a lot of adaptations, but my personal favorite is the George C. Scott version. All classics though.

19. The Year Without A Santa Claus (1974)

Who can forget Heatmeiser and Snowmeiser?

18. Meet Me In St. Louis (1944)

Judy Garland's version of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" still gives me chills.

17. Miracle on 34th Street

I didn't put a year on this one because there are two versions, and both are great.

16. Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)

I think everyone watches this special pretty annually.

15. The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006)

Yes, the other two are on here. I LOVE these movies, but some people don't love this one.

14. Home Alone 2: Lost In New York (1992)

Yes this movie is great, but the first one is better.

13. The Santa Clause 2 (2002)

Again, I love these, but the first one is the best.

12. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

Another special that I feel like everyone watches pretty regularly.

11. The Polar Express (2004)

10. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

The animated adaptation is fantastic, but the movie is yet to come on this list.

9. A Christmas Story (1983)

You'll shoot your eye out!

8. Holiday Inn (1942)

Bing Crosby stars in this film, therefore it screams Christmas.

7. Elf (2003)

Now some will be upset that I have this one at number seven and not higher, and y'all it's good, but there is better.

6. Home Alone (1990)

5. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)

I think we all aspire to match Clark Griswold's decorating prowess.

4. White Christmas (1954)

Again, Bing Crosby = Christmas. Also George Clooney's mom is in this, so that's fun.

3. The Santa Clause (1994)

2. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

1. It's A Wonderful Life (1946)

Obviously.

So here is just one list, which is by no means comprehensive. There are so many more things to watch, so pick your favorite and cozy up with sweets and loved ones, and enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
