25 Times The Kardashians Kept Up With College

Typically WE keep up with the Kardashians, but now THEY'RE keeping up with college!

College can be quite a roller coaster ride. There’s always going to be ups and downs because it’s a new place with people you’ve never met before. That’s why you need to meet people, gain friends, and make memories that will last forever! It’ll be the time of your life! Also, in light of Kylie’s 19th birthday, I figured the Kardashian’s would be perfect to describe college.

Move in day:

It’s fun to see and meet your roommates, but moving in is so tiring. It’s also amazing when you’re sweating from the sun beating down on you and you run into the hottest guy on campus. Like please stare at my glistening forehead.

“Hi new roommate, would you like to use my forehead as a mirror?”

The first day of classes:

The first day isn’t even the worst. It’s the entire year that sucks.

When the teacher says, “Here’s your homework,” on the first day of class:

“Um, when is the drop date?”

When you realize they’re serious about this assignment:

“Again, when is the drop date?”

When someone asks you how you’re doing:

“I’m on the verge of a mental breakdown, but yeah I’m OK!”

When someone asks you for help:

I literally can’t.

Like you’re failing because you don’t know what to do:

Help me!

When people don’t stop talking in class:

It’s fine when I talk in class, but if anyone else is, please shut up.

When your parents call to “talk” aka check in:

Shout out to my parents reading this!

When other students fail a test and cry:

“Lol why are you crying though? OH, you actually care?”

When I fail tests:

There’s more throughout the semester, it’ll be a-OK.

8 a.m. classes:

I’ve honestly never taken an 8 a.m. class, but I have fallen asleep in my 9 a.m. class. It’s not a good idea because the teacher will call you out in front of the entire class.

When people ask about my future:

Especially when you go home for holidays, it sucks!

Then they start asking why you’re still single!

Thirsty Thursdays:

TURN UP!

Let’s be real – we drink every night.

It’s fine, we keep it under control… sometimes!

When you call your best friend having a break down (it will happen):

My advice is to have a friend on speed dial and call them when you can’t handle everything. I’ve had multiple break downs at school. It isn’t fun, and you’ll definitely want someone to talk to!

There’s always that one crazy friend.

“Yes.”

Finals week:

This is the most stressful week. All the studying I should have done throughout the semester, it hits me all at once during finals week.

When a hottie walks in the room:

Like hello, come over here and be mine forever and ever.

When you realize you’re a grown up:

An immature grown up, but a grown up at that!

Freshman (every year) 15:

If you don’t gain weight, I hate you. No, loathe.

When you actually go to class:

Freshman year, I probably skipped one of my classes more than I actually went. Word to the wise, bad idea! I also tried skipping my Spanish class and somehow, the teacher still knew my name. I didn’t want her to know my name so I dropped the next class I had with her. Aren’t I such a good student?

When someone asks you to hang out:

“I’m busy, thanks though,” you send as you lay in bed watching Netflix and eating donuts.

College as a whole:

It is worth it though!

But really, have some fun!

As you can see, college can get a bit crazy! I will assure you though, it’s been the best time of my life. I love college, and hopefully you do/will too. Obviously, the Kardashians know best.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
