"The world's gonna know your name- What's your name man?"

NY times

If you haven't listened to the music or gone to see it- you need to.

It's all over the news, social media, and is sweeping the nation and our playlists simultaneously. What is it? Hamilton: An American Musical. This musical is one of the most amazing catalysts in many ways: the catchy raps and contagious melodies not only get stuck in your head but they also teach you history. The interpretation on stage, while it does portray the life of Alexander Hamilton, applies to daily life and the future of ourselves and our nation. Some of it is just darn funny, and lots of it hits you straight in the feels. Either way, the impact that Hamilton has had is here to stay, and I couldn't be happier. Here are 25 times that the lines of Hamilton: An American Musical are super relatable.

Alright, here are a few of the funnier/sassier moments...

1. "Why do you write like you're running out of time?"

@ me.

2. "I AM NOT THROWING AWAY MY SHOT!"

3. "Don't modulate the key and not debate with me."

4. "Don't be shocked when your history book mentions me!"

5. "Talk LESS, smile MORE."

6. "I'm a general! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

7. "Here's An Itemized List Of Thirty Years Of Disagreements."

...That moment when you know they are holding a grudge....

8. "Immigrants, we get the job done."

9. "Include women in the sequel!"

10. "Awesome. WOW."

...And now- for the stuff that really pulls at my heart strings...

11. "There's a million things I haven't done, but just you wait..."

12. "Raise a glass to freedom; something they can never take away, no matter what they tell you."

13. "Life doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints."

14. "We push away what we can never understand- We push away the unimaginable."

15. "Get your education. Don't forget from whence you came, and the world's gonna know your name."

16. "I wrote some notes at the beginning of a song someone will sing for me. America, you great unfinished symphony, you sent for me...You let me make a difference."

17. "I can't wait to see you again, it's only a matter of time."

18. "If you stand for nothing, what'll you fall for?"

19. "There is no more status quo...But the sun comes up and the world still spins."

20. “I will not equivocate on my opinion, I have always worn it on my sleeve.”
21. "I want to build something that's gonna outlive me!"

22. "Legacy. What is a legacy? It's planting seed in a garden you never get to see."

23. "Look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now!"

24. "Let me be a part of the narrative."

and most specially,

25.

Thank you, Hamilton: An American Musical. You've added 'skilled rapper" to my resume, helped me understand history a little better, made me laugh and cry, and been a huge source of encouragement and hope for me. No wonder this show earned a ton of #HAMILTONYS.

"I've only slept nine hours over the past four days, so I'm right on the verge of a nervous breakdown." - Leslie Knope

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
