25 Thoughts You Have When Taking An Uber

Most college students will agree that Uber is a lifesaver when it comes to getting kids safely from point A to point B in a timely fashion. The app comes in handy especially when the school shuttles do not drop students off in front of their favorite nightclubs or off-campus house parties. While some Uber excursions are more eventful than others, here are thoughts that every Uber passenger has experienced before, during and after their ride.

1. Who is coming in my Uber?

2. What type of Uber should we take?

I'm a broke college kid... I cannot afford the luxuries of an UberBLACK! Although, it would be nice to roll up to a house party in a Rolls-Royce or Porsche...

3. Everyone better have the Uber app downloaded and be ready to split the fare.

4. I hate the moochers who give every excuse not to split the fare... I am just as broke as you are!

5. Why are the Ubers so far away... doesn't anyone stay in nowadays?

6. These surge prices are ridiculous.

7. Are all these people going to the same destination as me?

8. What are the odds my driver is foreign?

1 in 2...

9. Will our driver notice if we squeeze an extra person or two in our Uber?

10. Other students better not steal our Uber... it's like a shark tank out here!

11. I wonder if our driver has an aux cord?

12. If he/she wants that five-star rating, they better hand the aux cord over.

13. I love the Uber drivers who provide juice boxes and snacks for their customers.

14. Some of these drivers frighten me.

15. Is Uber safe?

16. Are we going to get kidnapped?

17. Well, it's too late to turn back now...

18. Uber drivers are either super talkative or silent. There's no in between.

Either way, a car ride alone with an Uber driver is 100 percent awkward.

19. It grinds my gears when people pronounce the app as "yoober" instead of "oober"

20. I swear if anyone throws up in the Uber, they're paying for it... I do not have $200 to waste on the poor decisions of other people

21. How many laws is this Uber driver breaking?

22. Thank God we made it to our destination safely

23. Don't worry, Uber driver, regardless of how strange our conversations were and how many rules of the road were broken, you will basically always get a five-star rating from us college kids because we will forget to fill out the star rating until the next time we are in a rush trying to find an Uber.

24. How do I become an Uber driver?

25. ...Yep, I'll be Ubering home, too!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
