25 Thoughts Students Have When Sick the First Week of School

Being sick sucks. Being sick in college sucks worse. You're surrounded by people, most likely sick or even sicker than you are, you have no idea what to do to make yourself better, you don't want to go to class but you can't afford to miss class, and any facility that would have any substance required to kick your illness's butt (ex. Dayquil, Mucinex, Advil, or at the very least good ol' fashioned OJ) is just too far away to be worth going to in the state you're in. Despite all of that, you are bound to get in sick in college and these are the inevitable thoughts you will have when it happens.

1. I am dying.

2. No really, this is a death cold (note: actual medical term).

3. Can people still die from colds?

4. I am almost 100% positive this will kill me.

5. How did I even get sick again? I just got back to school

6. I have to go to class.

7. How do I even get to class? I can't get out of bed to get the OJ

8. Do I really even need to go to class?...

9. Yes, go to class

10. Wait, what are the attendance policies?

11. Wow, I really should have listened on syllabus day

12. Ugh, I don't feel like going through the syllabus, I'll just go to class.

13. Will more meds make me feel better?

14. Am I taking the right meds?

15. Maybe my roommate will know.

16. Ooh, maybe SHE knows my attendance policies...

17. Oh no, what if she gets sick?

18. We can't both be sick.

19. Will we be in a perpetual state of sickness if we both continuously pass each other the cold?

20. OMG, they'll have to turn 305 into a hazard zone.

21. Oh crap, still haven't figured out the class situation.

22. If I go do I bring the whole box of tissues, or just some?

23. Is it even worth it walk all the way over there?

24. Who would know how to help me?

25. OH MY GOSH. I am calling Mom.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
