25 Things Only People From Jacksonville Understand

1. It takes a minimum of 30 minutes to get anywhere.

2. When people find out you're from Jacksonville, they ask you, "OMG, do you know this person"? Like hellooo, do you know how big this city is?

3. There are four malls in Jacksonville alone, not counting the two outlet malls right across the street from each other in St. Augustine.

4. It would take an hour to name all the different beaches.

5. You know which beaches are the best and which beaches to avoid.

6. Two words: Angie's Subs.

7. You know how hard it is to be a Jags fan.

8. Jacksonville is just a city that is made up of smaller suburban cities.

9. People here take high school football way too seriously. Everyone has their rivals -- some as new as Creekside and Bartram Trail, others as old as Raines and Ribault.

10. You went to St. Augustine on a field trip every year of elementary school.

11. You are a pro at the "Spot The Tourist" game.

12. You know that tourist season never actually ends.

13. Trucks outnumber any other type of car.

14. And they're all jacked up with obnoxiously loud engines.

15. You know the difference between the Old Money in Riverside and the New Money in Ponte Vedra.

16. You've been to the TPC every year since you were 10 years old.

17. When people find out you're from Jacksonville they start screaming "DUVAAAALL!"

18. There are several songs about Jacksonville, everyone's favorite being Duval.

19. You know all the backroads to avoid San Jose.

20. When are they going to be done with the construction downtown?!

21. As hard as people might try, there will never be good nightlife.

22. If you grow up there and don't move away after high school, you know you'll be stuck there forever.

23. You'll be surprised if UNF ever gets a football team.

24. You've been to the abandoned school downtown at least once in your life.

25. You know that the people in Jacksonville are different from anyone else you've ever met (and that's both a good and bad thing).
