Whether a national or local sorority, greek life is something that we take so very seriously. Our sorority has become our life, our home. However, you never notice how silly you sound to your friends that aren't in greek life until you start talking about it and realize they don't understand a single word you're saying. For all of us srat girls out there, here are 25 things that only sorority girls will understand:

1. Tying to explain to non-greek life friends what a big and little are

2. Crafting, so much crafting ... even if you don’t necessarily know how to craft

3. Hearing the ever so popular “you pay for your friends” phrase

4. Trying to juggle school work while staying up all night during recruitment week

5. “Do you guys haze?!”

6. What boys think when they hear you’re in a sorority

7. What adults think when they hear you’re in a sorority

8. Spending hundreds of dollars on something greek apparel

9. No matter what the event, your guy friends always want you to invite your sorority sisters

10. Throwing what you know everywhere you go ... and watching all your peers judge you for it

11. Running into someone from your sorority of a different chapter and having an instant bond

12. Dreading weekly chapter meeting, but never wanting to leave when you’re there

13. Trying to recruit every freshman you meet to join greek life, and scaring them with your enthusiasm

14. Going all out for mixer themes

15. Turning competitive during greek week

16. All your classmates think you own nothing but letters

17. Everyone on campus knows your chants, that’s how much you scream them

18. Either being completely obsessed with Lilly Pulitzer or having no idea who she is, there’s no in between

19. The “sorority squat” that we all claim we don’t do, but find ourselves in more than often

20. Buying a new dress for formal every year, even though you're broke and own a million dresses

21. When frat boys think they know you based off of the sorority you’re in

22. That awkward moment when your big or little call you by your first name

23. Having an unbreakable bond with your pledge sisters

24. All anyone thinks you do is party 24/7

25. Feeling lost when the year is over and all your sisters are gone for the summer

Despite the stereotyping and judgement, and no matter what the sorority or letters, at the end of the day we can all agree that joining greek life was the best decision we've ever made.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
