With Thanksgiving in the review mirror, Christmas looms like the light at the end of the tunnel after a crazy year and no shortage of events or work. But we're almost done! SO CLOSE. While it's important to be thankful during Thanksgiving, and always, paying attention to that feeling pf gratitude spread to Christmas and winter. Here are 25 things to be thankful for as we near the end of 2016 and the blissful Christmas season.

1. Winter is coming! Snowflakes and crisp air, hello!

2. Family! Mom and Dad never looked better.

3. Friends! Enjoy hot cocoa and have ugly sweater parties with the best!

4. Food! As if we needed reminding.

5. Good tunes! Nothing like Michael Buble to get in the spirit.

6. Holiday and Christmas movies! Elf? Miracle on 34th Street? Yes please.

7. Hallmark channel. Shout out to Andrew Walker and Lacey Chabert.

8. Christmas trees! Nothing like a little pine smell.

9. Lights in windows! It is literally lit.

10. Pets in Christmas sweaters! So cute!

11. Christmas sweaters. They are truly something special.

12. Christmas songs. Cue Buble and get the Egg Nog!

13. December! Really, the whole month is budding excitement!

14. Cocoa! See #3 and make yourself a cup! Peppermint, marshmallows or naw? It's up to you!

15. Fun gloves. I mean, who isn't thankful for that?

16. Scarves! They really do so much for us.

17. Cookies! Sugar, ginger snaps, chocolate, peppermint, anything!

18. Candy Canes! Whether you eat them or hang them, they're sure to please!

19. Mistletoe! For those relatives who don't seem to need it.

20. Wrapping paper! Nothing says "merry" like some cheerful paper!

21. Wreaths! Hang one on your door with cheer!

22. Black Friday! Shop til you drop! Just don't overdo it!

23. Cyber Monday! From the comfort of your couch! But some presents while you're at it.

24. No school! Need I say more? Breathe and stretch, kid.

25. Snow!!! Go play, ski, build, whatever. Shed some pow or watch it from the fireplace.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
