Okay girls, we've all been there. We've been upset about a boy that was far from worth our time or effort. He seemed like the greatest thing to happen to you, but now you're realizing that you were wrong. He broke you, he made you question your value and here you are, left alone confused and heartbroken. Well sweetheart, I'm here to tell you it gets better and the world is full of many things better than boys.

Here are a few for you.

1. Girls nights

Who doesn't love a night talking about how crappy boys are with your best friends?

2. Shopping

Retail therapy is all a girl needs.

3. Big t-shirts

The most comfortable thing to wear. Ever.

4. Chocolate

Chocolate is everything a girl needs.

5. Workout clothes

New workout clothes means motivation to work out, look hot and make your ex wish he still had you.

6. Bubble baths

There is nothing more relaxing than this.

7. Puppies

Uhm hello. I'd pick a puppy over a boy any day.

8. Cats

Cats are clearly better too.

9. Ice cream

Sometimes you just have to eat sweets and forget about your problems.

10. Football games

Sometimes a good game with some eye candy can make all the difference in your mood.

11. Family

Family can make you feel better no matter what and they know what you deserve.

12. Funny movies

A little laugh makes all the difference.

13. Christmas

Christmas is the best time of the year.

14. Hot chocolate on a cold night

There is nothing better than a warm drink on a cold night.

15. Pizza

Pizza is always there for you... WAY more dependable than a stupid boy.

16. Your girlfriends

No one knows how to make you feel as good as your friends can.

17. Crying because you laugh too hard

Your stomach might hurt from laughing too hard, but it's so worth it.

18. Snapchat filters

Those filters can make you look so good.

19. Late night drives

Drive around and jam out to Taylor Swift, you'll definitely feel better.

20. Singing in the shower

We all do it and we all love it.

21. A blanket right out of the dryer

Getting into bed with a warm blanket is perfect. Cuddle up and you'll realize how much better it is than a boy.

22. Vacations

The beach or a boy? Is that even a question? No way.

23. Coffee

A trip to starbucks beats a boy any day.

24. Dancing

Blast your music and dance. It's so much fun and is the best way to relieve stress.

25. Self love

No one can love yourself like you can.

On those days when you feel like nothing can get better, remember that there are tons of little things that are way better than a boy. Learn to love yourself and find the good in every little thing. The world is full of things way bigger and way more special than a boy that broke your heart.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
