A wall is not going to fix the immigration problem. By building that wall you are essentially just trying to ignore the problem. When has ignoring your problems ever worked? Also, instead of keeping people out of America, we should help them in any way we can. Those people are not fleeing to our country because they are bored and have nothing better to do. They want a better lives for themselves and for their families. Yes, they should do it legally, but the immigration policies and processes need to be fixed and updated. I am proud to be an American and even more proud to be a person who values the meaning in helping other people. I am very lucky and blessed to have the life I have here, but others face terrible conditions. We also have problems in America that need fixing too. So instead of having Americans help pay for a wall to keep people out (spoiler alert: Mexico is not going to pay for the wall), we should either save that money or spend it on more important things. Here are a few Ideas that 25 billion dollars could go towards:

1. Hire More Teachers

2. Build More Schools

3. Give Out Scholarships for Students

4. Fix the Water in Flint, Michigan

5. Medical Research (Finding cures to diseases, new antibiotics to fight antibiotic resistant bacteria, new vaccines...etc.)

6. More Affordable Health Care for those without insurance

7. Paid Maternity Leave

8. More Affordable Women's Health Care

9. Help with Finances with Families With Sick Children (Dance Marathon)

10. Update Hospitals

11. Help the Homeless

12. Feed the Hungry

13. Help People Who Have Been Affected by Natural Disasters

14. Stop Deforestation in the Amazon

15. Plant More Trees

16. Fund Scientific Research Towards Preventing Climate Change

17. Help Small Businesses

18. Road Repairs

19. Power Businesses With Solar Energy

20. Give More Funding To Veterans

21. Help Pay for Book Costs of College Students

22. Fund Programs that Help People With Disabilities

23. Provide Clothing for the Poor

24. Help Students Pay off Loans

25. Helping refugees

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
