October has come and gone, Halloween (or Halloweekend) is over and the time to get in the holiday spirit has finally arrived! While many of you will begin to listen to Christmas music now and start drinking peppermint mochas, it's important not to forget about one of the most important holidays of all: Thanksgiving. Even though this is the beginning of November, there is no better time than now to think about what we can be thankful for.
This November, here are 25 things to be thankful for:
1. Starbucks
2. Pumpkin Pie
3. The Thanksgiving feast itself (cause come on, who doesn't appreciate a good ole' American feasting)
4. Fall leaves (if you don't live in Arizona)
5. Lulu Lemons (you're welcome boys)
6. Sweaters, sweatshirts, spirit jerseys, and all things comfy to wear in the fall
7. BOOTS!
8. The fact that you can almost listen to Christmas music (and have it be socially acceptable)
9. College football
10. Blanket scarves...or really any scarf
11. Cuddle weather
12. Netflix (this is a biggie)
13. The fact that you get school off on Thanksgiving (and if you're lucky you actually have a Thanksgiving break)
14. The fact that you have work off for Thanksgiving (and if you don't, I'm truly sorry and thankful for people like you who keep their businesses open for us)
15. The smell of pine cones (especially from craft stores - seriously what's in that stuff?)
16. Kate Spade
17. Nordstrom
18. Black Friday sales (or the fact that you're sleeping through Black Friday while your mom shops for Christmas)
19. Apple cider
20. The fact that it's almost Christmas (AHHHH!)
21. Ugly Christmas Sweaters
22. Fireplaces
23. Your sorority sisters/fraternity brothers
24. Your organization itself (think of all the amazing things that have come from being a part of something that is bigger than yourself)
25. All your amazing friends, family, and loved ones (because this is what Thanksgiving is really about; being thankful for the people who influence you and care about you. If you have any one that is special to you, you are truly a lucky person)
Even though you can be thankful for many silly, material things, we know that material good are not what's really important in life. Take this time of year to see what you've been blessed with and to be thankful for those blessings. Happy (early) Thanksgiving!
