In no particular order, here is a list of revolutionary songs that you have been completely missing out on if you haven't heard them yet. Although there is a broad variety of songs below, this especially goes out to all of my Indie fans out there.
1) Pulaski at Night by Andrew Bird With a simple, yet mesmerizing instrumental track in the background, disliking this song would just be silly.
2) Tyrants by Catfish and the Bottlemen As the song progresses, the more you get emotionally connected to the song. It ends with the one of the all-time greatest guitar solos at the end that will speak directly to your soul. Gold, gold, this song is gold.
3) Runaway by AURORA It is darn near impossible to not be melted by the beauty of Aurora Aksnes' voice. She could honestly sing the Declaration of Independence and it would be just as beautiful.
4) 80s by Behrana With its R&B spin, this song is great for unwinding and relaxing.
5) From Nowhere by Dan Croll I will never understand how this British legend is not more famous than he is, but as it goes for underrated artists, Dan Croll might just take the cake. (Compliment Your Soul and Sweet Disarray are other very honorable mentions by him.)
6) In Over My Head by Jenn Johnson This song is a lyrical masterpiece. It is one of my all-time favorite worship songs. Absolutely breathtaking.
7) Shaky Ground by Freedom Fry With its happy-go-lucky-ness you can not be sad while listening to this cute and upbeat gem.
8) Trouble by Metronomy As for Metronomy, they may be one of the most unique sounds that I have heard in a while. Definitely worth a listen.
9) Saint Simon by The Shins Now no one could EVER compare to the Beatles, however, I am often reminded of them when listening to some of the songs that The Shins have to offer. 10/10 would recommend.
10) Troublemaker by Beach House When I hear this song, I imagine myself relaxing on a beach in Hawaii. This will definitely put you in your zen happy place.
11) Keep You by Wild Belle When this song played for all of about 15 seconds on Pitch Perfect I Shazam-ed it immediately. With its reggae twist, it's full of nothing but good vibes.
12) To Sir With Love by Lulu This one is a blast from the past, but is timeless nonetheless.
13) And So It Goes by Billy Joel Another oldie, but goodie. It's a shame that this song doesn't have more publicity.
14) Nothing I Hold Onto by United Pursuit Another one of the greatest worship songs in existence. The lyrics are beautifully crafted and amazingly humbling. (Seasons Change by United Pursuit is another fantastic one that's worth a listen.)
15) Shot at the Night by The Killers Unique instrumental, unique vocals, unique style. This one hit the jackpot.
16) Things Happen by Dawes Another feel-good song. Simplistic, yet captivating.
17) Outgrow by Lewis Watson Another gem in the treasure box. Sentimental lyrics, sentimental feel, yet uplifting and upbeat all at the same time.
18) I Found by Amber Run If you thought that the song alone was amazing, just wait until you see the music video. So powerful.
19) Roll With the Punches by Colony House This is a group that I just recently discovered and boy am I glad that I did. Here's one of the many rocking hits that they've put out.
20) Good Day by Nappy Roots I love this song. I imagine myself at a family barbecue just having one heck of a good time.
21) Wavemasters by Social Club Misfits You thought there was no such thing as good Christian rap? Think again. They knocked this one out of the park.
22) Do You Love Me Still? by The Kooks I say Under you say Rated. Because that's exactly what this song is.
23) Blue Ridge Mountains by The Fleet Foxes Beautiful instrumental in the background. Beautiful harmonies. Intricate, yet simplistic. Much love for this song.
24) Strawberry Swing by Coldplay I mean.. it's Coldplay. Can you ever go wrong with them?
25) Wide Eyes by Local Natives For this one, I'll let the music do the talking. Truly one of a kind.
