30 Signs You Grew Up Watching Veggietales
Big Idea

If you're reading this, it probably means you spent most of your childhood days watching a bunch of singing and storytelling vegetables in front of a big, boxy screen on your VHS. Silly songs, Bob and Larry, QWERTY, you've seen it all. So here's a tribute to all the Veggietales kids out there:

1. You know every single word to the theme song to this day

2. You were confused when you learned they didn’t actually throw slushies at Joshua during the battle of Jericho

3. If you lose your hair brush, or anything, you break out in song

4. Barbra Manatee is still the most compelling love story of all time

5. No, just no...

6. Cheeseburgers are a thing of beauty

7. This was sadder than any Shakespearean tragedy

8. You can’t help but to sing a silly song

9. EVERYBODY has a water buffalo

10. Lip problems? Queue the lip song

11. Larryboy is still your favorite superhero

12. You finally figured out why QWERTY was named QWERTY

13. Khalil and his identity crisis

14. The puppy song. Forever. In. Your. Brain.

15. The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything describe your life

16. Hand jokes

17. You watched Lord of the Beans because you were too young for Lord of the Rings

18. You had a Veggietales themed party

19. You didn't lie because you were always paranoid about the Fib

20. Chocolate bunnies are ruined forever

21. You have every VeggieTales VHS, DVD, CD, and tape

22. When you found out there's a second and more "kid friendly" version of the bunny song

23. The Jonah premiere was one of the biggest events in your life

24. Every noise at night was a monster and that monster was the "boogie man"

25. 321 Penguins for the hiatus

26. Nerdy jokes for the parents

27. You feared the island of perpetual tickling more than death itself

28. Phil Vischer is your hero

29. You know your Bible because of a bunch of singing and story telling veggies

30. You know God made you special and He loves you very much

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
