I love listening to sad music. I promise it's not as depressing as it sounds. Sometimes it just lets me wallow in my sadness and other times it just helps me focus. These are my top sad songs, in no particular order. Whatever you use this playlist for, I hope you like

1. "i hate u, i love u" by gnash and Olivia O'Brien

"Do you miss me like I miss you?"

2. "How to Save a Life" by The Fray

"Where did I go wrong?
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
And I would have stayed up with you all night
Had I known how to save a life"

3. "The One That Got Away" by Katy Perry

"We keep all our promises, be us against the world"

4. "I'll Always Remember You" by Miley Cyrus

"I always knew after all these years

There'd be laughter, there'd be tears

But never thought that I'd walk away

With so much joy but so much pain"

5. "Rise Up" by Andra Day

"When the silence isn't quiet
And it feels like it's getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying
But I promise we'll take the world to its feet
And move mountains
We'll take it to its feet
And move mountains"

6. "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol

"If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told"

7. "Please Don't Go" by Joel Adams

"'Cause I don't ever want to know

Don't ever want to see things change
'Cause when I'm living on my own
I'll wanna take it back and start again
Most nights I pray for you to come home
Praying to the Lord

Praying for my soul"

8. "Where Are You Now" by Mumford & Sons

"But where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?"

9. "She Used To Be Mine" by Sara Bareilles

"She's imperfect, but she tries
She is good, but she lies
She is hard on herself
She is broken and won't ask for help
She is messy, but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone, but she used to be mine"

10. "Burning House" by Cam

"Love isn't all that it seems
I did you wrong
I'll stay here with you
Until this dream is gone"

11. "Whiskey Lullaby" by Brad Paisley

"He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said "I'll love her 'til I die"
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby"

12. "Little Do You Know" by Alex & Sierra

"Little do you know

How I'm breaking while you fall asleep"

13. "Hearts Ain't Gonna Lie" by Arlissa

"When love don't feel right
We get along, get along on the outside
Head out the door, but our hearts on the inside
Love don't feel right
We get along, get along on the outside
But hearts ain't gonna, hearts ain't gonna lie"

14. "Complicated" by Olivia O'Brien

"Why do you have to go and make things so complicated?
I see the way you're
Acting like you're somebody else, gets me frustrated
And life's like this you,
You fall and you crawl and you break and you take what you get and you turn it into
Honesty, you promised me I'm never gonna find you fake it"

15. "Find What You're Looking For" by Olivia O'Brien

"I always knew you'd be the one
To break me down, no, it's not fun
To be the girl you hit and run
Wish you were sorry for the things you've done
And after all you put me through
I'm sick and tired of loving you more
I just can't give you what you're looking for"

16. "Space Between" by Sia

"Feel the void in our bed
The space between is deafening
Oh, we don't bend or break it
The space between is deafening"

17. "Lost Boy" by Ruth B.

"There was a time when I was alone
Nowhere to go and no place to call home
My only friend was the man in the moon
And even sometimes he would go away, too"

18. "When You're Gone" by Avril Lavigne

"I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd
Need you there when I cry
And the days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie
Is made up on your side"

19. "Purpose" by Justin Bieber

"I put my heart into your hands
Here's my soul to keep
I let you in with all that I can
You're not hard to reach
And you've blessed me with the best gift
That I've ever known
You give me purpose
Yeah, you've given me purpose"

20. "River of Tears" by Alessia Cara

"Still got the flowers that you sent
And the note you wrote that said
That we're meant to be forever
I keep them all as evidence
In a drawer under the mirror
Filled with empty promises"

21. "Not Easy" by Alex Da Kid, X Ambassadors, Elle King, Wiz Khalifa

"We were two dumb kids
Full of hopes and fears
Growing further and further apart
So you shook your head
Looked at me and said
'It's not easy breaking your heart'"

22. "Please Don't Go" by Stephanie Rainey

"I've kept my own side of the bed,
Thinking you'd be home again
I hold myself so I can sleep
My pillow holds the screams of me"

23. "Build You Up" by Kim Taylor

"Everything is clear and

You are such a wonder and I

Will be the one to build you up"

24. "Fix You" by Coldplay

"When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse"

25. "Breathe (2AM)" by Anna Nalick

"'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button boys,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe, just breathe,
Whoa breathe, just breathe"

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
