Flashback to 5-year-old me: hair tied back in a ponytail, outside in the early mornings and late evenings, playing games at the park, exploring my hometown. Sometimes, I wish things could still be this easy. As I grew up, I found myself losing touch with my adventurous and creative side and have just recently begun to do something about it. I want to be that fearless little girl ready who could take on the world independently again. This list goes out to all of those who are still finding their creative sides, because everybody has some hidden talent whether you know it or not.

Stop putting off your adventures for another day and make it happen now.

1. Be extreme and try something new— see what that hair color you love so much looks like on you...

2. ...Or start small, like a new drink from Starbucks

3. Be extra— always!

4. Double text that boy you like, he might think it’s cute.

5. Make friends with the “not so cool” kid. He has a brilliant mind of his own.

6. Be witty— smart is the new sexy

7. Don’t be afraid to participate in that 500 person lecture class. What you have to say is important and others feel and think the same way you do.

8. Study harder for your Econ exam. It will pay off once you land that amazing job in the future.

9. Confront the person causing you stress (peacefully and tastefully) — tell them how you really feel and solve your problems. Why create unnecessary hate?

10. Go out of your way for someone. The little things can make for the brightest of morale boosters.

11. Eat that extra piece of cake; you deserve it.

12. Go out on Wednesdays but be responsible (most of the time).

13. Stay up all night partying, it’s not a bad thing every once in awhile.

14. Catch a glimpse of the sunrise with that special person, sunsets can get to be overrated.

15. Make friends with a stranger.

16. Raise money for your favorite cause, helping others makes a huge impact on both yourself and your community

17. Laugh— it makes others smile.

18. Smile— it makes the hard times easier.

19. Take pictures of your favorite memories.

20. Go on an adventure, either around your hometown or an exotic destination.

21. Join clubs based on your hobbies, it gives you something to look forward to and an easy way to make friends.

22. Call your parents and tell them you love them- they do a lot of behind-the-scenes things for you.

23. Be basic.

24. Be bold.

25. Be you.

Tomorrow is never guaranteed. Make the best with what you’re given— it’s more than someone else has.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
