21 Reasons To Thank Your Mom

Mother's Day is right around the corner and it's all about moms. All kinds of moms. Moms who gave birth to you. Mom's who raised you. Dad's who play the role of mom. Really anyone who is like a mother to you. These things apply to all those people. It doesn't have to be a holiday for me to thank my mom but here are a few things I want her to know I'm thankful for this Mother's Day.

1. Thank you for carrying me around for 9 months.

Without you I wouldn't even be here.

2. Thank you for dressing me in (mostly) adorable outfits.

I love looking at adorable baby pictures and seeing my mostly cute (some not so cute) outfits.

3. Thank you for tucking me in every night.

I always have great memories filled with bedtime stories and cuddles.

4. Thank you for always having my back.

I know you always have my back no matter what. You're honestly one of my best friends.

5. Thank you for raising me right.

You've been a great role model and have always taught me right from wrong.

6. Thank you for always treating my friends like your second children.

You're the coolest mom and everyone thinks so. Thanks for always planning fun things for us and letting us hang at your house.

7. Thank you for being there at every school event.

Volunteering in the classroom. Coming to every school play. Awards ceremonies. I'm lucky to have you there every step of the way.

8. Thank you for being my biggest supporter.

I know you're always there for me every step of the way and cheering me on to conquer every obstacle and accomplish every dream.

9. Thank you for always being there for constant advice.

You always just know the right things to say.

10. And of course for listening to me rant and vent.

You're a great listener and I can always go to you with all of my problems.

11. Thank you for dealing with my tantrums.

I know I was the kid who threw lots tantrums in public and for that I am very sorry.

12. And my moodiness too.

I may have been a tough kid but I know I can be a tough adult too.

13. Thank you for always being right even though sometimes it's hard to admit.

Thank you for having such great judgement and usually being right. It also helps that you never say I told you so.

14. Thank you for always making me feel special.

You always make me feel beautiful and amazing every single day.

15. And always encouraging me every step of the way.

You're my biggest fan and my greatest supporter.

16. Thank you for teaching me to be polite.

Because of you I always say please and thank you and I am as polite as possible. I was raised right.

17. And forgiving too.

I know sometimes things can be tough but your ability to forgive always makes things easier.

18. Thank you for cooking dinner every single night.

I know sometimes it keep seem like it's expected but you always make sure we're fed even now in adulthood and I am very grateful for that.

19. Thank you for loving me more than you love yourself.

Your love for your children is obvious and we're so beyond lucky to have a mother like you.

20. And teaching me to always be humble and kind.

You're the sweetest person ever and I strive to be that way too.

21. Thank you for being the kind of mom I strive to be one day.

I am forever thankful for you. Thank you for being you.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
