25 Reasons Why I Love My Best Friend

My best friend is basically the coolest person alive. She's my therapist, mom, boyfriend, photographer, chef, and weirdo all wrapped up into one tiny 5'4 body. She's always there for me and can put a smile on my face no matter how I'm feeling. There are a billion and one reasons to love her, but here's a list of my top 25.

1. She laughs at all my jokes

Probably the most important quality.

2. She loves bobbas and Noodles & Company just as much as I do

Probably the second most important quality.

3. She tells me she loves me

Which is kinda a requirement for all best friends but I still smile every time she says it.

4. She understands every She's the Man quote I sneak into casual conversation

Do you like...cheese?

5. She's really short but that's okay because I always get to hug over top

Plus we always have a cute pose for pictures

6. She has the superpower to read my mind and know exactly how to respond

She always knows what to say to make me feel better.

7. She'll get dressed up with me and do my makeup and go to random places just to have a photo shoot

And helps me come up with cool but funny but inspirational Insta captions.

8. She says really stupid things that sometimes aren't even all that funny, but nonetheless, I can't stop laughing*

*or rolling my eyes because she's such an idiot.

9. She can play the ukulele

So we can sing duets and be all talented.

10. She motivates me when I'm feeling lazy

Which is often, let me tell you...

11. She shares her food with me

No matter how hungry she is.

12. She's confident

She knows who she is and what she wants, and serves as a daily role model to me.

13. She hypes me up

Mentally and with dance parties.

14. She's thoughtful

She puts in the effort to make me happy, even if it's just with little things.

15. She can't stay mad at me

Which is a lifesaver when I do something stupid.

16. She's smart

She challenges my mind and helps me look at different perspectives.

17. She can go from classy in 4-inch heels to the weirdest human being you've ever met

Both personalities come in handy.

18. She's always down for an adventure or trying something new

So yeah, we have some pretty cool friend-dates.

19. She's cute

She gets me a lot of likes on my Instagram posts.

20. She's a strong and independent woman that don't need no man

And reminds me that I'm one too.

21. She doesn't take crap from anyone

She always stands up for what she believes in and doesn't give in to peer pressure.

22. She puts up with how indecisive I am and tries to keep up with me every time I change my mind about something

Keyword: tries. It's a tough job.

23. She loves Jesus

She keeps me faithful and always points me back to my Savior.

24. She helps me decide what to wear when I send her a billion snap chats of different outfits

Every girl needs that in her life.

25. She somehow managed to become my favorite person ever (and stay that way)

Which is an accomplishment worth recognizing all on its own.

I love you best friend. Thanks for everything you do.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way.
