As I am preparing to go back to NC State as a senior this fall, thinking about move in has lead me to having many questions. I love NC State and the people there but there are still some questions that need answers.

Disclaimer, I do not know much NC State trivia so if you actually know the answers to some of these, I applaud you.

Without further ado, here are 25 questions that I have for NC State.

1. Where do all of our bricks come from? I have heard rumors that some were made at the state prison but I don't know if that is true.

2. What is in boom boom sauce?

3. Is it true if you get hit by a bus at the school, that NC State will pay for your tuition?

4. Why does Jason's Deli take 4 hours to just put out a sandwich?

5. Why did Bragaw's C-store take away the dipping dots (seriously, this upset me a lot)?

6. How did Mr. and Mrs. Wolf meet? I need to know their love story!

7. Where does the brickyard preacher sleep?

8. Do your class rings really make you fly across the brick yard (if you have been to the ring ceremony then you will get this)?

9. Is Cookout ever not busy?

10. Does Chancellor Woodson live on campus? My guess is no.

11. When did the Tucker-Own beach volleyball war start?

12. Why do we have so many noon games?

13. Do the athletes really get steak for dinner at Case? This is a question many peasants, like myself have wondered while we eat our burned hamburgers in Fountain.

14. Why is Howling Cow so good?

15. Come to think of it, where are those cows even at that make the milk for the ice cream?

16. Why are the drink machines always out of soda at Talley and the Atrium?

17. Why is the orange juice in the dinning halls so watered down?

18. Why do you smell like Case after you eat there? Seriously, the smell lingers all day on your cloths.

19. Will the construction for the new part of the gym ever be done?

20. Where the heck is the rock wall in the gym?

21. Why is it always so hard to get a decent spot to park?

22. Why are the tri-towers elevators always down?

23. Why don't we have an outdoor pool? We just have law chairs to tan outside in the back of the gym with no pool.

24. Will you really not graduate if you step on the crest in Talley?

25. Who owns Tuffy the husky who runs on the football field?

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
