We're nearing Halloween and everyone is trying to figure out what they should be. Should you go solo, with a friend, or with a whole group of friends? If you're still struggling to figure out what you and your friends want to be for Halloween, then here are a few costumes ideas from some of our favorite and most classic TV shows and movies. These ideas can work as solo costumes, or group costumes. Maybe you'll even find something you have yet to think of, or will change your idea of what you originally thought you were going to be. No matter what you dress up as for Halloween and who you dress up with, you'll still be killing the costume game!


1. The Addams Family

Whether you're going as a couple and want to be Wednesday, Morticia and Gomez, or you're going as a big group, you can't go wrong with dressing up as America's favorite spookiest family.

2. Adventure Time

This show has so many characters that it's almost impossible not to find a costume. It's Halloween, so it's the perfect time for you to channel your inner Jake the Dog or Marceline the Vampire Queen!

3. American Horror Story: Hotel

Unfortunately, us mere mortals can't be The Countess every day of our lives -- but we can be her for Halloween! You and your friends can even dress up as the whole gang and include, Donovan, Hypodermic Sally, James March, Liz Taylor, and more. If you're into the glitz and glamour for "Hotel," then this is your chance to live out your fantasy!

4. American Horror Story: Murder House

For any couples out there, Tate and Violet are the perfect couple to dress up as for Halloween. If you're going as a group though, then you have endless eerie characters to choose from!

5. Arrested Development

If you're willing to go the distance, it would be pretty iconic to dress up as Blue Tobias.


6. The Avengers

Dress up as your favorite superhero for a super Halloween.

7. Bates Motel/Psycho

You can be Norma and Norman, or even Norman as Norma! If Norma and Norman aren't your favorites though, you still have plenty of other characters to choose from.

8. Beetlejuice

There's no denying that dressing up as Beetlejuice and Lydia wouldn't be a great couple costume that would be a lot of fun to create!

9. Bob's Burgers

Make it a family affair and dress as the Belchers, or even just your favorite Belcher!

10. Broad City

Kill it this Halloween by dressing up as these comedy queens. You can even put a spin on it by dressing up as Abbi's drunk alter-ego, Val!

11. Friends

Dress up as your favorite Friend with your friends! Bonus points if people within your friend group are dating and they dress up as the couples from the show.

12. Grease

You can be Sandy and Danny, or you can go as the Pink Ladies and T-Birds!

13. Harry Potter

There are so many classic characters to choose from so this would be great for solo, couples, or group costumes! Don't limit yourself to just Harry, Ron, and Hermione -- channel your inner Luna Lovegood or Sirius Black!

14. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

This could be one of the best and funniest group costume for any Always Sunny fans. If you're willing to go the extra mile, dress up as Frank in nothing but tighty-whities!

15. Juno

For any couples out there, this could be a really cute and funny costume. For any adults out there that still like to dress up for Halloween (because you're never too old to dress up), if you're expecting parents, then the real baby bump will make this costume so much better!

16. Parks and Recreation

Leslie Knope, Ron Swanson, Donna, Andy -- you have endless characters to choose from! If you want to get even more creative, you can dress up as April and Andy's alter-egos, Janet Snakehole and Burt Macklin!

17. Pokemon

With the recent resurgence of Pokemon, you can't go wrong with dressing up as your favorite Pokemaster or Pokemon. You and your friends can even go as Pokemasters with their corresponding Pokemon.

18. The Powerpuff Girls

Sugar, spice, and everything nice -- dress up as your favorite Powerpuff Girl! Don't limit yourself to the Powerpuff Girls though. You can also go as the Professor or your favorite villain!

19. Rugrats

Who doesn't love the Rugrats? Dress up as your favorite baby, or even favorite parent!

20. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Dress up as Scott and Ramona, or the whole gang! You can even go as the seven ex-boyfriends, too!

21. Scream Queens

You and your friends can go as The Chanels, or even the Red Devils. If you've been watching season two, you can also go as this season's killer, or one of the unique doctors or patients we've been introduced to!

22. Suicide Squad

Even though the movie wasn't as great as everyone was hoping it would be, there's no denying that these are truly iconic characters. You and your squad can go as the Suicide Squad, or your favorite squad member. Even though they technically aren't part of the squad, you can also go as Enchantress or The Joker if that's more your style.

23. The Wild Thornberrys

There's no doubt that this would be an awesome, and pretty easy, group costume.

24. Workaholics

The perfect easy and fun costume from one of the best TV shows.

25. X-Men

Who doesn't love the X-Men? With so many characters, there are so many costume options! You also don't have to stick to the movies -- if you're familiar with the comics, then go as your favorite mutant from the comics!


Hopefully this list gave you some ideas for costumes if you didn't have any already. If you're still struggling to find a costume come October 31, then don't sweat it -- you can always go as a homicidal maniac.
