I remember growing up listening to my older sister explain to me why country music was so much better than other genres of music. She told me that country music told a story, that the words were the most important parts of the song. It's something that has always stuck with me, and I've realized that there is a country song for every emotion. Here's a list of 25 country songs you need to have in your music library:

1. American Love Song by Jake Owen

This is the perfect summer song! It's hard to listen and not tap along to the beat and sing along. I'm positive it'll even bring back some wonderful memories, too!

2. H.O.L.Y. by Florida Georgia Line

Such a sweet song the boys wrote about their wives! It's a good reminder of what love should feel like!

3. 21 Summer by Brothers Osbourne

A song that basically reinforces the idea that once you love someone you never stop loving them.

4. Wasn't that Drunk by Josh Abbott Band feat. Carly Pearce

Super cute song about the (possible) start of a new romance. Who doesn't love that?

5. Til Tomorrow by Walker McGuire

A good song if you're going through a break up! Some times we all need a good night out with our friends to make us (temporarily) forget.

6. Peter Pan by Kelsea Ballerini

If you're dating a boy who just doesn't seem to grow up, this is the song for you!

7. Boomerang by Jana Kramer

Jana Kramer doesn't stand for on and off again relationships, and neither should you!

8. Wasted Time by Keith Urban

Another song that should bring your nostalgia through the roof! Also, it's another great summer song.

9. Vacation by Thomas Rhett

Perfect summer party song! Basically sums up what we all want our summer days to feel like.

10. She's Got a Way With Words by Blake Shelton

Another good break up song. Sometimes something so sweet becomes something so sour.

11.Middle of a Memory by Cole Swindell

We've all had that encounter in the bar that didn't last long enough! This song sums up that experience pretty well!

12. Holdin' Her by Chris Jansen

Another beautiful song written about a spouse. Chris Jansen is very much in love with his wife, and the song could almost bring you to tears.

13. It All Started With A Beer by Frankie Ballard

Another good song about meeting someone on a night out. Except this time it actually led to something!

14. Lights Come On by Jason Aldean

The perfect party song! Some nights we don't wanna go to sleep until the sun comes up.

15. My Wish by Rascal Flatts

I do not care how much time passes, this will always be one of my favorite songs. Great song to wish someone the best in life, regardless of where your relationship stands.

16. Whisper by Chase Rice

Great song for some of those emotions we don't say out loud.

17. Tuxedo by Clare Dunn

Some girls likes a man who gets his hands dirty.

18. All Nighter by Dan + Shay

First, Shay has such a beautiful song. Second, this is a great song for a new budding romance. It also just makes you feel good.

19. Night's On Fire by David Nail

This is another great summer song.

20. Think Of You by Chris Young feat, Cassadee Pope

This song explains how everything around you feels different after a break up.

21. Make You Miss Me by Sam Hunt

We're all guilty of trying to make sure our ex isn't doing too well without us.

22. Room To Breathe by Chase Bryant

When you find the person you want to be with, needing "space" is a thing of the past.

23. Church Bells by Carrie Underwood

We all know those girls who are always looking for a man with money. Sometimes, it's not always a fairy tales.

24. Huntin, ' Fishin' And Lovin' Every Day by Luke Bryan

I mean, the song pretty much explains itself.

25. Wanna Be That Song by Brett Eldredge

We all have someone that we wish we could be exactly what they need. This is a super cute song that talks about just that.

Now whatever music platform you use, go make sure these 25 songs are on it!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours.
