The Integrated Catholic Life

Life can be extremely overwhelming at times. In the midst of chaos, God has been my constant reminder to stay calm and have faith in what He is doing in my life. Diving into His word has always been an outlet for me to relieve some of the stress and focus on what really matters; His plan for me and the promises He has made.

1. "He will be our peace." - Micah 5:5

I love this verse. You can always trust in God's guidance and remember He has everything planned out.

2. "You are worth more than many sparrows." - Matthew 10:31

This verse reminds us our worth in God is unfathomable. We need not to be insecure or down on ourselves- for He knows we are worth more than gold.

3. "Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant, or insecure, remember to whom you belong." - Ephesians 2:19-22

Again, this verse reminds us just how fearfully and wonderfully we are made in God's eyes. We were His vision, and everything about us is for a purpose. Whether we know it or not.

4. "The Lord stood with me and strengthened me." - 2 Timothy 4:17

This verse puts the emphasis on using God as your firm foundation. Nothing can shake you when He is at your side.

5. "He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge." - Psalm 91:4

When you're troubled, stressed, or anxious, run to God. He will calm the storm.

6. "Rise up, this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it." - Ezra 10:4

This verse speaks volumes to me. It reminds us to keep fighting the good fight. To keep letting our light shine despite our difficulties.

7. "And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ." - Phil 4:19

No riches on this earth can compare to the riches God has waiting for us. Keep on keepin' on!

8. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."- Jeremiah 29:11

This verse resonates with me. God's plan is bigger and greater than any we could imagine for ourselves.

9. "May you be strengthened with all power; according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy." - Colossians 1:11

Let God be your strength. Earthy things will fail; God's grace will not. You will endure any trial because of God's never-failing ways.

10. "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you." - Isaiah 43:2

God sees you struggling. He knows what goes through your mind. You're not alone in the fight.

11. "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not go weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31

I love this verse because it shines light on the fact that God really keeps you going. He gives you a sense of purpose and hope. His love is like fuel to a fire.

12. "Consider it pure joy, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." - James 1: 2-3

The bible tells us numerous times that our trials refine us. They make us stronger, more compassionate, and most importantly, they help shape us into who God calls us to be.

13. "We hold onto hope for He is forever faithful." - 1 Corinthians 1:9

This verse reminds us our God is faithful. He will answer your prayers.

14. "Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you." - Hebrews 13:5

Again, God is never going to leave you when you mess up or fall down; there is no way of measuring His love for us. God has your "best interest at heart," so to speak.

15. "I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord." - Isaiah 66:9

Life is painful. There is no doubt. Sometimes we ask "Why, God?" but God knows. He sees all; what has happened, and what will happen.

16. "Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the battle is not yours, but God's." - 2 Chronicles 20:15

This verse is a big sigh of relief. We don't have to worry about what is to happen; God has it in His hands.

17. "Tears are prayers too. They travel to God when we can't speak." - Psalm 56:8

God knows our hurts, our insecurities, our needs, and our wants. He knows our innermost secrets. God will heal in due time.

18. "When you've done everything you can do, that's when God will step in and do what you can't do." - 2 Corinthians 12:10

If you're anything like me, I like to try and control everything that happens in my life. Since I have become more grounded in my faith, God has taken away that control and has given me the peace to just live life and trust God is doing what He is doing for a specific purpose.

19. "Do not fear for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you. For I am your God. I will strengthen you. Surely I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with my righteous hand." - Isaiah 41:10

Another thing the bible stresses is to never have any anxieties. I truly think this is because it distracts us from living up to our full potential in our faith.

20. "I have set the Lord before me continually; because He is at my right hand. I shall not be moved." - Psalm 16:8

God empowers us. Fear becomes a thing of the past when you use God as your shield. It is truly amazing what we accomplish when we give the power to Him.

21. "I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and I will rescue you." - Isaiah 46:4

If we believe what is written in the bible, we know that God is miraculous. He can turn water to wine; He makes the impossible, possible. He will rescue us from whatever troubles we think we have; which are minuscule in His eyes.

22. "But he knows where I'm going and when He tests me I will come out as pure gold." - Job 23:10

God has already seen your future. In this verse, He knows the outcome of your struggles and your successes. You just need to breathe.

23. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."- Psalm 34:18

When you've done all you can do; God will step in and comfort you. When you feel hopeless; God will give you hope.

24. "God didn't bring you this far to leave you." - Philippians 1:6

A lot of times, the people in our lives let us down; Our friends, our family, our significant others. God will never give up on us, or disappoint us. His plans are perfect.

25. "The pain that you've been feeling can't compare to the joy that's coming." - Romans 8:18

Your pain and suffering do not even comeclose to God's grace, joy, and comfort that He provides for us.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
