As summer slowly comes to end, all college students are getting ready to head back to campus. This means extensively mentally preparing ourselves and setting very very very ambitious goals for the new school year. Here are 25 thoughts every college student has about going back to school.

1. I'm going to go to every single class this year

2. Do I REALLY need to buy this $200 textbook?

College textbooks are so expensive. And when you know that you'll only read a paragraph out of a 300 page textbook, you begin to doubt whether you really need the book in the first place.

3. I wonder if I can find a PDF version of this

4. I still need to sell last year's books

But don't get too excited. The money you make from selling last year's books is the money you use to buy this year's books.

5. I have no idea how I'm going to decorate my room

6. I really hope I don't have a class with [insert name]

No one's perfect; everyone has that one person they need to avoid no matter what. It's easy to dodge the person when you see them in the quad, but if you're in a class with them? Not so easy.

7. I REALLY hope I have a class with [insert name]

8. I'm going to sit in the front for every lecture

Sitting in the front ensures you don't zone out or start texting your friend about how boring the lecture is. If you want to ace the class, you have to persevere throughout the whole quarter or semester.

9. Thank God for syllabus week

10. At least I don't have any 8 AMs this year

Remember when you thought you could deal with 8 AMs because you had 8 AMs literally for the past 13 years of your life? You quickly realize how naive you are, so you make sure to not be so silly when scheduling next semester's classes.

11. Oh wait...I have 2 8 AMs....WHY?!?!

12. I'm totally going to be organized this year, I have a planner and everything!

You buy a really expensive planner, and you make really good use of it...for about two weeks. But let's be honest, if you stick with it, you'll have some satisfaction of having your life together.

13. I need to make sure I don't gain another 15 pounds this year

14. I'm going to work out every week

...Or so you thought.

15. How many days until Thanksgiving break??

16. How many days until winter break??

We all await that sweet sweet month of doing absolutely nothing.

17. Why in the world am I overloading this semester????

18. At least I don't have to use a communal bathroom anymore!

And no more shower slippers!

19. I can't wait to finally see my friends again, it's been too long

20. I'm going to actually make the effort to look presentable this year

You tell yourself this every year, and you actually do make the effort, but then you remember the sweats you packed.

21. But I'll pack extra sweats just in case - you never know what could happen

22. I wonder how late I can wake up and still make it to class on time

We all depend on those extra minutes of sleep. It really makes a difference, even though we know we're going to have to get ready in 2 minutes flat to get to class on time.

23. I can't spend too much on Starbucks again this year

24. I'm really going to miss home-cooked meals

Because let's be real, there is absolutely nothing, nothing as delicious as the hot meals you get at home.

25. It feels good to be going back

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
