24 Times Game of Thrones Related to Your Life

It's that time of year again, the time we have all been waiting for: Game of Thrones' new season to start. To prep for this momentous occasion, I decided to refresh myself on all of the major plot points of the past seasons. During this, I discovered something: Game of Thrones is a lot more relatable than you think. I mean sure we don't control dragons or have entire kingdoms to worry about, but there is a lot more in the plot than meets the eye. Think about it, have you ever been out one night and just thought to yourself "Where are my dragons?"

1. When you walk into a test you barely studied for, and you're just like well this is as good as it's going to get.

2. When you wake up on your kitchen counter, because at 2 a.m. you thought it would be a nice place to sleep.

3. When the person your friend is "talking to" walks in the room.

4. When you're mad at someone over text and they point out you used the wrong form of "your."

5. When your already three feet tall and your friend tells you to watch out for a tree branch that is a good two feet above you.

6. When it's one of those days when your homework takes you over three hours and nothing makes sense.

7. When your friends tell you something isn't a good idea.

8. When you find out your friends went out without you.

9. When your "hangry" and someone tries to take the last piece of pizza.

10. When you're completely silent in the car then the chorus to a song comes on and you start scream-singing and your alarmed friend asks you why.

11. When you accidentally lose your intoxicated friend.

12. When your professor calls on you and you don't know what the answer is so you just say the first thing that comes to mind with the utmost confidence.

13. When your friend keeps talking about the same guy who keeps screwing them over.

14. When you're the only one with cash and your friends say they'll Venmo you.

15. When your friends say they'll Venmo you and they don't and you don't want to make a big deal out of it and you get scared to ask.

16. When your parents visit you at college and you take them to a party.

17. When your planner says you have homework, but you want to pretend that it's not real.

18. When you see a spider in your room, but you look away and then the spider is gone and you can't sleep.

19. When your friends find videos/pictures of you singing or being awkward during your middle school years.

20. When someone asks where bae is.

21. When you're a girl and it's that time of the month.

22. When you realize you're the most coherent of all your friends and have to guide them to the Uber.

23. When someones getting creepy at a party.

24. At any point ever during college.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
