The Olympics are a celebrated international event that has a rich history and culture. It brings countries together in a grand athletic competition and is an awesome symbol of worldly communion. They happen every other year, alternating in Winter and Summer, so it’s not uncommon for families to make time in their schedules to watch their favorite events.

Personally, I’m not a sports person and watch the Olympics only if I see a channel airing it. But I’m not too out of the loop thanks to Instagram, a visual-focused social media platform. There are many fantastic on scene images and artistic submissions celebrating favorite sports or athletes. Here are some things I’ve “learned” about the Olympics thanks to Instagram.

1. America has a “lit” theme song.

2. Phelps is still swimming.

3. And this guy is obsessed with him.

4. And also this dog?

5. If I die from too many chicken nuggets, I want to be reborn with the success of Simone Biles.

6. All Olympic swimmers’ favorite Mario Kart character is Toad.

7. I no longer have the worst last name to spell.

8. Olympic Goals

14. Always give your Tinder match a chance.

15. Sport illiteracy takes a victim every day, and I am an existing one.

16. Same, if I watched the Olympics.

17. If an Olympic gold medalist can be afraid of bees, so can I.

19. And other insecurities… (if you consider this an insecurity?)

20. You can be qualified for anything if you put your mind to it.

21. A new genetic beauty combination has been discovery.

22. The Special Victims Unit made an appearance.

23. This is an Olympic sport.

24. He was so Clos.

Thanks Instagram for your knowledge. Can't wait for the next important worldly event to happen.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major.
