We all remember those middle-school days where every girl thought they were "hotties", but in reality, we were duck face making, gossip-loving pre-teen girls who had no shame. Flashing back to the early 2000s, man those were the days. But, now we are old. Let's not do the math on how long it has been since the sixth grade! Looking back, I don't know whether to laugh or cry at how we looked and acted. But, hey, we survived and have great memories to tell our future kids and grandkids! Look on the bright side, middle-school was much cooler in the early 2000s than it is now! Because today, middle-school kids are contouring better than Kylie Jenner and know what the latest liquid lipstick is! We sure had no idea what anything past CoverGirl was.

So, sit back, grab your pink razr phone and let's take a trip down memory lane shall we...

1. Practiced the "poof" hairstyle!

Because making an X with your bobby pins really made a difference!

2. Throwing up the peace sign in bathroom mirror pictures with the duck lips!

We were doing the duck lips before it was even cool.

3. Collecting every Rue21 perfume there ever was.

Because you get them for $5 with purchase, please mom! I have to have this one, it smells so good!

4. Begging our parents for Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister Co, and American Eagle clothes.

Because having an animal on your shirt defined your popularity status.

5. Decorated our locker with cute pictures of our besties.

Which changed weekly.

6. Made a label for everything with our label maker.

Why was this ever even a thing?

7. Showed off in gym class to impress our crush.

Did you see me make that basket on the first try? No, okay, I will be doing it again next class no worries!

8. Put rhinestones on our pink Verizon Razr phone

This took a lot of focus!

9. Wrote notes in class to our best friends and folded them and writing "pull" on the little tab.

It was all fun and games until the teacher caught you and read it out loud.

10. Hid our feminine products in a cosmetic bag and found some way to sneak it into the bathroom.

Because, girls do not have their periods, remember?

11. Bought a purse from Aeropostale

Because they were cute and most likely reversible!

12. Spent hours on Myspace perfecting our top friends and background profile.

This is a big deal.

13. Used this symbol on every text, note, and Myspace post.....<3

Because a heart is cute.

14. Pretending our friends stole our phone and texted our crush

When in reality, it was you all along.

15. Took way too many pictures with our hot pink digital camera

On Wednesday's we take pics with our pink camera.

16. Sprayed ourselves from head to toe in perfume before leaving the gym class locker rooms.

Because we have boys to impress. Okay. Bye.

17. Got side bangs.

Everyone was doing it.

18. Wore a basketball boys sweatshirt.

Because wearing a guy's last name and sports number on your back meant something.

19. Never went to the bathroom alone.

We travel in small herds actually.

20. Wrote "ILY" in our all friend's yearbooks!

Here's an ILY for you, you, and none for Gretchen Weiners!

21. Tried mascara for the first time and felt like the queen on make-up.

CoverGirl was our best friend.

22. Got way too excited when your bff got her period. Like OMG!

We are women now!

23. Danced at awkward school dances with our gal pals to "boots with the fur"

Don't laugh, you know exactly what I am talking about.

24. Put all our hope and faith in "cootie catchers!"

Because a folded piece of paper can, in fact, determine your future.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
